After a successful 2015 debut, we are thrilled to announce that Rhythm & Boooos is back! So, if anyone is looking for something fun and festive to celebrate the spookiest time of the year, come enjoy this Halloween-themed concert on the square in Medina. It's free to the public and promises to be fun and entertaining. Bring your coziest blanket, comfiest chair, and a hot mug of cider for music and ghost stories. It features vocalist Sarah Edwards-Maag, drummer Taylor Pohlig, and pianist Jonathan Gordon. This event is family-friendly.

Midsummer at Nordonia this weekend!!!

This weekend, the Nordonia High School Drama Club will present William Shakespeare’s *A Midsummer Night’s Dream* as this year’s fall play production. Directed by Nordonia’s Director of Drama, Chris Simmons, with the assistance of Dane Leasure, *Midsummer* will be presented in the round, with the audience seated on the stage with the actors. *Performances for Midsummer are: Friday and Saturday, October 27th and 28th, at 7:00 PM and Sunday, October 29th, at 3:00 PM, in the high school auditorium. * Due to the audience configuration, seating will be limited for each performance. While tickets will be available at the door, it is recommended that you reserve them ahead of time. Please join us for our annual Halloween Swing dance at the Waterloo Ballroom in the Slovenian Workmen's Home. Be sure to arrive in time to take part in the easy jitterbug lesson from 8pm to 9pm. We always review the basic Jitterbug step, talk about the basics of leading and following, and then show a few new moves. Each lesson is unique and you will always pick up new moves and hints each time you attend a pre-dance lesson at a Get Hep Swing event. These lessons are appropriate for brand new dancers all the way up to advanced dancers. You will not be disappointed! Immediately after the lesson (at 9 PM) the band Hepcat Revival will kick off an awesome night of music and swing dancing until 12am. Costume contest during the first band break. Everyone is welcome to come and have fun with us at this swing dance. There is no need to have previous dance experience or a dance partner. No need to make reservations or buy tickets in advance. The event is $12 per person. The Waterloo Ballroom at the Slovenian Workman's Home is located in the very artsy and lively Collinwood neighborhood. The address is 15335 Waterloo Rd, Cleveland, Ohio 44110. There is no sign for the Slovenian but if you look for a red brick building with a mural of polka dancers in ethnic attire you will easily find the ballroom. The Slovenian not only has a beautiful ballroom; they also have a well stocked bar. They have alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks of all kinds for sale--including a very special Slovenian beer- Lasko! There will also be some sweet and savory snacks for sale in the bar as well. There are TWO parking lots to the right of the ballroom and there is also some street parking as well. However, if you can carpool with friends that would be recommended. We also have a security guard who keeps an eye on the hall and both parking lots. Nunsense Synopsis: Written by Dan Goggin, and Winner of four Outer Critics Circle Awards, including Best Off Broadway Musical, Nunsense begins when the Little Sisters of Hoboken discover that their cook, Sister Julia, Child of God, has accidentally poisoned 52 of the sisters, and they are in dire need of funds for the burials. The sisters decide that the best way to raise the money is to put on a variety show, so they take over the school auditorium, which is currently set up for the eighth-grade production of Grease. The audience meets Reverend Mother Regina, a former circus performer; Sister Mary Hubert, the Mistress of Novices; a streetwise nun from Brooklyn named Sister Robert Anne; Sister Mary Leo, a novice who is a wannabe ballerina; and the delightfully wacky Sister Mary Amnesia, the nun who lost her memory when a crucifix fell on her head. Featuring star turns, tap dancing, a nun ballet, an audience quiz, and comic surprises, this show has become an international phenomenon. Characters: (The roles listed below are from the script. Weathervane Playhouse to present Jane Martin's Talking With... 11 stories from 11 women set to grace the Dietz Stage AKRON - Weathervane Playhouse presents the first Dietz Theater production of the season as Jane Martin's iconic monologue play Talking With... is set to run November 2 - 22 in Weathervane's intimate Dietz Theater. Show times are Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. There is also a single Saturday matinee performance on November 11 at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $10- $22 and are available by calling the box office at 330-836-2626 or by going to www.weathervanplayhouse.com<http://www.weathervanplayhouse.com> Talking With... is a play made up of monologues, each eight to ten minutes long and featuring a different female character who talks about their life and personal ordeals. These idiosyncratic characters amuse, move, frighten, and speak from the depths of their souls. They include a baton twirler, a fundamentalist snake handler, an ex-rodeo rider and an actress willing to go to any length to get a job. Many of the monologues are touching, some are intensely emotional, and a couple are even comical. All of the pieces, however, show how the varied experiences and events in one's life affect who we are as humans. These extraordinary monologues received a standing ovation when they premiered at The Actors Theatre of Louisville and won the 1982 American Theatre Critics Association Award for Best Regional Play. Jane Martin, a Kentuckian, first came to national attention for Talking With..., a collection of monologues premiering in Actors Theatre of Louisville's 1982 Humana Festival of New American Plays. Since its New York premiere at Manhattan Theatre Club in 1982, Talking With... has been performed around the world, winning the Best Foreign Play of the Year Award in Germany from Theatre Heute magazine. Her other work includes: Vital Signs, Cementville, Keely And Du (Pulitzer Prize nominee; 1994 American Theatre Critics Association Best New Play Award), Jack And Jill (1997 American Theatre Critics Association Best New Play Award), Anton In Show Business (2001 American Theatre Critics/Steinberg Principal Citation), Mr. Bundy, and Flaming Guns Of The Purple Sage. Good Boys premiered at Guthrie Theater in 2002. Flags was co-produced by Guthrie Theater and Mixed Blood in 2004, and her most recent work, Sez She, premiered at Illusion Theatre in April 2006. Weathervane's production of Talking With... includes performances by a kitten named Pongo courtesy of Paws and Prayers and a ball python named Bedford courtesy of The Herps Alive Foundation.
