What: A three hour interactive workshop examining various techniques to activate and demystify Shakespearean verse speaking. Explore Shakespeare's verse with Geoff Bullen, former head of training at R.A.D.A, one of the world's great theatre schools. This is an ideal workshop for both professional theatre artists who want to deepen their exploration of verse as well as students who might be challenged by heightened language. Geoff Bullen works as an Associate Director at Britain's Royal Academy of Dramatic Art specializing in teaching Shakespeare. As translator and adaptor - notably of the work of Feydeau and Steinbeck - and as the author of numerous plays on social issues for schools, his work has been performed around the world; he is a guest lecturer at Case Western Reserve University and Course Director of the New York University/RADA Shakespeare in Performance Program. He has worked extensively in the United Kingdom in the commercial, subsidized and community theatre. Recent productions include: Cavalleria Rusticana and Tosca, Magdala Opera; Beside Picasso and Bacon, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe; Red Sun, National Tour; Into the Woods, Assassins, and Little Women - The Musical, RADA; and The Tempest, Stadsschouwburg. In 2008 his production of Chaplin took the grand prix at the 5th UNESCO International Festival in Minsk. He was the 24th director of The Mousetrap, the world's longest-running play in London's West End.

Good Afternoon!! Playmakers Youth Theatre seeks boys in grades 8-12 for Footloose! There are two casts. The first cast performs in three shows May 11-14 (Thursday and Sunday) and the second cast performs in three shows May 18-21 (Thursday and Sunday). TCT offers three in-house Youth Theatre Arts courses per year. They take place on location at TCT—a 188 seat, ADA compliant theatre located on the eastern edge of the Detroit-Shoreway area of Cleveland's near west side. Fall and Spring classes are held on Saturdays for eight-week sessions and are broken down in appropriate age groups and scheduled as follows: Pre-school (ages 3-5) 10am to 11am Kids (ages 6-10) 10am to 1pm Early Teens (ages 11-14) 10am to 1pm Through puppets, music, movement, improvisation, story-telling and acting, students develop communication skills, teamwork, confidence, and creative expression.
