We hope to see you there! What exactly is The Manhattan Project - Cleveland Lab? The Manhattan Project is a low-stakes, nonthreatening place for actors and playwrights to meet and work together. Based on the Theatre Lab model taught at the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama and inspired by The Brooklyn Generator in New York, The Manhattan Project wants to introduce Cleveland actors and playwrights to each other by organizing a bi-monthly production of brand new 10-minute plays. Participating artists will meet early in the month and will be broken into teams, each with one playwright. The playwright will then be given a writing prompt to write a new 10-minute play based on the prompt and including all the team's actors. The rest of the evening the team members will get to know each other and get a feel for each other's skills and voices. The teams will reconvene later in the month to perform these plays for each other. These 10-minute plays are not an end in themselves. Through these small collaborations we hope to build relationships between the two most vulnerable artists in theatre; the actors who put themselves on stage and the playwrights who pour themselves onto the page. Perhaps these 10-minute plays will grow into longer works or maybe these collaborations will become partnerships on larger projects. THE VIOLINS OF HOPE EDUCATIONAL CONCERTS Looking for 1 Female and 1 Male actor to appear in a series of Educational Concerts for The Cleveland Orchestra called The Violins of Hope. Both should be in their 20’s. If the male actor has a working knowledge of Hebrew, it would be helpful BUT this is not a necessity. PERFORMANCES ARE DURING THE DAY, SO PLEASE CHECK SCHEDULE BELOW. There will be a $300.00 payment for your involvement. The production revolves around violins saved during the Holocaust that remain in use now by musicians in Israel and around the world. This is an hour-long presentation and there is about 15 minutes of text wedded into the 45 minutes of music. This is a mix of direct audience narration with very short scenes. This is a REMOUNT from last year and so the staging will be recreated. Performances will be held at the new Maltz Performing Arts complex at University Circle. This is the rehearsal/performance schedule. ALL performances are during the DAY. Explore Shakespeare’s verse with Geoff Bullen, former head of training at R.A.D.A, one of the world’s great theatre schools. This is an ideal workshop for both professional theatre artists who want to deepen their exploration of verse as well as students who might be challenged by heightened language. Geoff Bullen works as an Associate Director at Britain’s Royal Academy of Dramatic Art specializing in teaching Shakespeare. As translator and adaptor – notably of the work of Feydeau and Steinbeck – and as the author of numerous plays on social issues for schools, his work has been performed around the world; he is a guest lecturer at Case Western Reserve University and Course Director of the New York University/RADA Shakespeare in Performance Program. He has worked extensively in the United Kingdom in the commercial, subsidized and community theatre. Recent productions include: Cavalleria Rusticana and Tosca, Magdala Opera; Beside Picasso and Bacon, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe; Red Sun, National Tour; Into the Woods, Assassins, and Little Women – The Musical, RADA; and The Tempest, Stadsschouwburg. In 2008 his production of Chaplin took the grand prix at the 5th UNESCO International Festival in Minsk. He was the 24th director of The Mousetrap, the world’s longest-running play in London’s West End.

Sandstone Summer Theatre of Amherst, Ohio is pleased to announce audition dates for *Sister Act: The Musical,* under the direction of Kristina Rivera and Music Direction under Melissa Anderson. Auditions will be held March 4th and March 11th, 2017 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm in the choir room of the Amherst Junior High School, 548 Milan Ave, Amherst, OH 44001. You only have to attend one of the dates, but please plan on staying the whole time. Please prepare 32 bars in the style of the show, but not from the show. Bring sheet music in the correct key.
