The twenty year relationship between Georges (Brault), a club-owner, and Albin (Marshall), the head drag performer, faces a test when their son announces his engagement to the daughter of ultra-conservative political parents. To please their son, Georges and Albin agree to hide their lifestyle and play it straight for a dinner with the potential in-laws. Will Albin‘s different definition of “normal” threaten to upend their lives? Sharing a parallel relationship to their onstage characters, real-life couple Brault and Marshall have been theatrical collaborators now for 19 and a half years (but who’s counting!). A Laurel & Hardy Film Festival will be shown Friday, July 7th at 7:00 and Saturday, July 8th at 2:00 & 7:00. The program includes five shorts, including THE MUSIC BOX and ends with the feature A CHUMP AT OXFORD. There will also be a look-a-like contest. In '*Audition Technique*," "*Business for Actors*," and "*Marketing Yourself*," you'll learn everything there is to know about the real world of auditioning, including headshots/resumes, finding an agent/manager, what to wear in an audition, how to market yourself in the audition room, self-tape auditions, how to impress the casting director, and so much more. On the final day, students will audition for a panel of artistic directors from major regional theatres and receive personalized feedback. *ABOUT THE FACULTY* *JAMIBETH MARGOLIS: *Jamibeth Margolis, CSA (Casting Director) is now entering her 20th year as a professional casting director in New York. She was with Johnson-Liff Casting, Cameron Mackintosh, and Margolis-Seay Casting and is now out on her own as a freelance casting director. Previous credits include the Broadway and National Touring Companies of such hits as Les Miserables, The Phantom Of The Opera, Miss Saigon, and Cats as well as two dozen other shows on Broadway. She currently casts for Off Broadway, National Touring Companies and shows for prominent regional theaters and all of the major theater festivals in NYC. Auditions for the 2017-2018 season of Theatre in the Circle will be held: Thursday, July 20 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. or by appointment. Friday, July 21 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. or by appointment. Callback auditions will be held on Saturday, July 29 by appointment. Roles will be cast for: “The All Night Strut” (September 21-24, 2017): 2 women (S&A); 2 men (T&B). WILDLY OUTRAGEOUS “NEIGHBORS” OPENS NEXT FRI, JULY 7 AT CONVERGENCE-CONTINUUM -Ohio premiere of Neighbors by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, directed by Terrence Spivey- In parts minstrel show, family drama and tragic farce, NEIGHBORS takes racial rage head-on in our supposedly “post-racial” world with shocking, savage humor. This outrageously provocative and controversial play by MacArthur genius award winner Branden Jacobs-Jenkins is directed by Terrence Spivey (director of last year’s con-con production of Bootycandy). Classics professor Richard Patterson is not happy. The family of black entertainers that has moved in next door is an embarrassment—loud, raucous, tacky, shameless and obscene. They’re not just taking over the neighborhood—they’re infiltrating his perfect, interracial family and his perfect, post-racial sanity. In its scathing exploration of denial and its satire of black entertainment from blackface minstrelsy to hip-hop, NEIGHBORS is a shocking, explosive, hilarious and wildly theatrical play.
