As the rivalry between King and Riggs kicked into high gear, off-court each was fighting more personal and complex battles. The fiercely private King was not only championing for equality, but also struggling to come to terms with her own sexuality, as her friendship with Marilyn Barnett (Andrea Riseborough) developed. And Riggs, one of the first self-made media-age celebrities, wrestled with his gambling demons, at the expense of his family and wife Priscilla (Elisabeth Shue). Free Student Ticket Thursdays

In order to make the art of theater more accessible to those in our community, Clague Playhouse is excited to continue to offer *FREE Student Ticket Nights*! Designated only for Thursday evening performances, students of any age are invited to show their student IDs (or other form of school identification) and attend *any Thursday Clague Playhouse showing AT NO CHARGE*. Clague Playhouse is delighted to be able to welcome students as we celebrate our 90th Season and 50th in the Barn. *HOW TO GET THESE TICKETS:* These Thursday Student tickets are limited and can vary depending on availability per week. MorrisonDance is taking dance up a level - LITERALLY! Come and check out the work we have been creating in vertical space using harnesses and rock climbing techniques! Western Reserve Playhouse ends their 2017 season by presenting 80 Minutes, a collection of original twenty minute plays, which will run October 6, 7 & 8. The show consists of four plays, all with different directors: "Intermission" written by Harlan Friedman-Romell, directed by Brandi Eaton; "A Match Remade in Heaven" written by Amanda Terman, directed by Brianna Laybourn; "MixMatched.com" written by S. Von Schmedelson, directed by Keith Stevens; & ”The Interview" written by Peter Fields, directed by Karen Rose. Dynamics Community Theater of Tallmadge will hold open auditions for The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, based on the best-selling young-adult book by Barbara Robinson, presented by special arrangement with SAMUEL FRENCH, INC.. Meet the Herdmans: six scraggly, unchurned children who lie, steal, cheat, and even smoke cigars! When these terrors of the town show up at Sunday School and muscle their way into the annual Christmas pageant, chaos - and hilarity - ensue! Auditions will be held October 3-4 from 6:30-8:30pm in the Black Box Theater at Tallmadge High School (140 North Monroe Rd). Callbacks, if needed, will be held October 5. Cleveland area Sitcom - We are casting to begin production of the Pilot and 2nd episode of Season 1. All actors chosen at casting will be used for entire season and beyond. As of right now all roles are non-paid until further notice. We recently started a go fund me campaign to raise funds for cast, film crew and admin so we'll see what happens. All filming will be in and around Cleveland, Parma, OH area. Below Average Joe will be holding a 2nd casting audition on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 @ 8707 Memphis Avenue between 6-8pm. We are holding auditions for the following roles. Auditions will be in fifteen minute time slots. We will provide sides and you are welcome to prepare a two-three minute monologue. Fred - old school Italian/American, Leslie's father, early 70's, nearly bald but wears a toupee or uses spray hair. Fred is a miserable, selfish human being, just because he can be. Always claims to be sick but never is. Freddie - Lanky & thin, Joe & Leslie's oldest son. Freddie is a genius, a smooth talker and quick with his words just like his Uncle Gregg, Leslie's older brother. Freddie's age can be between 12-16 years old. Depth - Joe's right hand man. Depth is a thin, long-haired stoner, late 30's - early 40's. He works with Joe, stoned day and night and is a huge influence with the entire Below Average Joe project. Cripple - Joe's left hand man. Cripple is average build, messy hair stoner savant, late 30's- early 40's. He does roof work and rides a bike everywhere. Peri - Gregg & Patti's youngest daughter. Beautiful; fair skin, dark hair, blue eyes. On the quiet side and always trying to get Joe & Leslie to be better parents. Peri's age can be between 15-18 years old. Cory - Gregg & Patti's youngest son. Handsome; lighter brown hair, blue eyes wants to be an actor. Very outgoing and BF's with Jake, Joe & Leslie's other nephew. Cory's age can be played between 17-24 years old.

Through lots of sweat, tears and fists, our 5th release is done and we are super proud of how it sounds. We have assembled a fantastic release extravaganza Saturday, September 23 at 7pm at the Bop Stop. So mark your calendars and save the date!!! The title is "Phantasmagoria", which means a series of images that evoke an altered reality dream-like state. That is what we have worked to achieve with the songs on the record. 1 - I think I was tripping when I wrote the title track, I don’t really remember putting it to paper, but I do love the imagery the words create. So close your eyes, then give me your mind when you listen to it. 2- "So It Seem" is the altered state of reality we are living in. Is life as good as it appears? Are there demons lurking in the cracks and crevices watching us? I don’t want to spook you, but keep your eyes pealed. 3 - I was in a band long ago called System 56 and I loved a song we performed called "Life On A Cool Curve". It was written by Steve Simenic. We transformed back to an 80’s feel to uncover this gem and remind you that it is empowering to be different. 4 - Thomas penned "Emily Dickenson", the story about a one-night stand with a writer whose name is similar to Emily Dickinson. We ramped up the punk factor for your pleasure on this ditty. 5 - We close out with "Angel & Me", a melancholy study of two young lost souls and their friends on a nothing-to-do night. They’re struggling to figure out how they fit in today, and even more so, how they fit in tomorrow. This song has a guest appearance by Bowie’s long running pianist Mike Garson. Because visual themes are integral to the music of "Phantasmagoria", we worked with notable local artists to develop a graphic-novel-like album cover. The graphic novel artists include Gary & Laura Dumm, best known for their decades-long relationship with Harvey Pekar, Jim "The Rev" Giar, Ashley Ribblett, Clare Kolat and Tim Switalski.
