Director of photography, grip, and sound person needed for "The Coroner's Assistant", an independent web series set in late Victorian-era England. We are looking for produce a high-quality series with a small but skilled crew. This 10-episode series follows James Rigby, a young medical student, in his apprenticeship to Oliver Cross, an elusive and unconventional coroner in South London who leads an underground cadaver trade business. Series stars Cedric Gegel, Rick Montgomery, Jr., Chris Dettone, and Giorgiana Lascu. This is an unpaid position, but cast and crew will be provided food and drink on set. Learn to cue tracks for live show at Mapleside Farms. Needed Thursday 9/21 and Friday 9/22 - and possibly run shows on 9/23 and 9/24 and subsequent weekends if it works out. Responsibilities include but not limited to, set up and break down sound equipment (speakers on stands, proper placement, running power and sound cables), testing wireless mics, placing mics on actors, running sound check, test cue tracks, set and adjust levels on mixer, initiate cue tracks at appropriate time through the running of the show. Possible small stipend. This month, *Latitudes Poetry Night at Compass Coffee will be Sept 20th*, and we are helping to celebrate Akron Peace Month with a very special reading featuring Akron poet *John Dayo-Aliya*! John Dayo-Aliya is a poet/playwright/teacher/director/musician from Akron,Oh. He has performed poetry nationally and is the co-founder/artistic director of Ma’Sue Productions. He studied Pan African Studies and Theater at Kent State University. After our feature, we will host a very special Peace Month open mic! *Please bring a poem for open mic that reflects on the themes of nonviolence, peace, or positive change. CLEVELAND PLAY HOUSE (CPH) SEEKING ADDITIONAL CASTING FOR A CHRISTMAS STORY

Cleveland Play House (CPH) is seeking a male young performer of color, ages 9-13, for the role of ‘Schwartz’ in its production of A Christmas Story, directed by John McCluggage. All positions are paid. Auditions are by appointment only. Auditions will take place Wednesday, September 27th in CPH’s rehearsal spaces, located on the fifth floor of the Middough Building, at 1901 E. 13th Street in Downtown Cleveland. Performers will audition with sides from the script, which will be sent when an appointment is set. Please note that children who will be 14 or older on or before 12/24/17 are ineligible to audition Rehearsals begin on Wednesday, November 1st, and will be held after school and on weekends, Tuesday-Sunday. The week of November 20th rehearsals will be during school hours. There will be no rehearsal on Thanksgiving Day. Performances are 8 shows a week from Nov. 24th - Dec. 23rd. Children will miss part or all of ten (10) school days for rehearsal and performances. Character: Schwartz – (9-13, person of color) One of Ralphie’s buddies. He likes trouble. He’s a little more on the ball than Flick and gets him to do things he probably shouldn’t. Also plays a Desperado. Review of "Shakespeare in Love" at Cleveland Play House

CPH’s ‘Shakespeare in Love’ finds its muse, and then some Bob Abelman Cleveland Jewish News, The News Herald, The Morning Journal Member, International Association of Theatre Critics Turning a screenplay into a stage play is an iffy enterprise. One need only have seen the touring production of “Dirty Dancing” at Playhouse Square, the musical “Bring It On” at the Beck Center or last year’s “Disney’s Freaky Friday” at the Cleveland Play House to understand the truth in this understatement. CPH’s current staging of “Shakespeare in Love” suggests that the company has not shied away from screen-to-stage projects. But it has also learned a lesson from all that went wrong with “Freaky Friday,” resulting in all that goes right in this gorgeous, thoroughly entertaining, hopelessly romantic and absolutely engrossing production. The Princess and the Pumpkin is a new family show performed at Mapleside Farms during the Fall season. Looking to cast the character Paisley Pumpkin. She's a fun, energetic pumpkin person who doesn't speak, but communicates through a sort of pantomime and noises. She is the best friend of our Princess Melrose. The show is performed every weekend Saturday's and Sundays with one FRIDAY (Oct. 13th) as well. 5 shows per day. The show runs about 20 min. Paisley is 20-30, bubbly, effervescent, lots of energy. Looking for an impressive actress that can really bring some creative characterization and dynamics to this character.
