Shakespeare’s poetry for the Actor Associate Professor of Theater Dr. Jerry Jaffe will be offering a one-day acting workshop on Shakespeare. The emphasis will be on how the poetry of the writing can help the actor create a more meaningful performance. This will include rhyme, meter, imagery and (of course!) iambic pentameter. This workshop is open to all members of the community. All levels of experience welcome, beginner to advanced, and all ages from high school on may participate. We will work on sonnets, soliloquies, and short scenes. Date: January 3 Time: 6-8pm Location: Lake Erie College Royce Hall for Fine and Performing Arts 391 W. *There is still time to register!* *Hathaway Brown Theatre Institute **announces Winter-Break 2018 * Wednesday December 26th - Thursday December 27th - Friday December 28th. 10 am - 3:00 pm Fun and Exciting Classes for Everyone. *The program offers unique classes for students from first grade through college!* *The PRIME program* (grades 1-3) offers 3 full days filled with song, dance, theatre, crafts and games. Participants can register for one, two or all three days. Tuition is $75 per day. HBTI winter break <http://www.hb.edu/page.cfm?p=8752> (information and registration). *The Performing Arts Training* (Intermediate: grades 4-6, Secondary: grades 7 through college ) has a wide range of specialty classes from which to choose. Some are old favorites and some are brand new. Classes are leveled by age and skill. *Choices include:* "Acting for the Camera",and" Monologues" with* Dan Hendrock. "*Acting the Song 1,& 2" and "Duets" will be taught by *John Krol* and* Dan Hendrock. John Krol *will also teach some specialty vocal classes "Singing for an Adult Character", "Using Your Head Voice" and “Belting”. Winter auditions are here and are you prepared? Dr. Christopher Hutton, Baritone, is taking new voice students and excited to get you physically and mentally prepared for auditions and performances. Dr. Hutton has a Masters Degree and Doctorate of Music Arts degrees in Vocal Pedagogy (Science of Singing) from Arizona State University, and is fluent in teaching both belting/music theatre technique and classical technique. Christopher attended Youngstown State University where he received his Bachelors in Voice Performance. He has also performed opera at regional opera houses for over thirteen years. I’m Not Rappaport takes place under a bridge in Central Park, where two octogenarians – one white, one black – meet regularly, determined to fight off all attempts to put them out to pasture. Nat is a cantankerous Communist whose daughter is urging him into the old folks’ home. Personality/Attire Requirements Ushers must be able to professionally and cheerfully represent the Ensemble to the public. The attire requested for your ushering duties is business casual. Ushers should also have a passion for theater and be at least 16 years of age. When To Arrive Ushers are scheduled to arrive one hour before showtime. Musical Director Needed for Madagascar at Playmakers

Good Morning!! Playmakers Youth Theatre in Beachwood is seeking a musical director for Madagascar. Working with kids in kindergarten through 9th grade (you will have help and not be left alone with the group!). Stipend offered. Rehearsals are three days/week, but generally you will be needed for Sunday OR Monday/Wednesday until the week before the show. Rehearsals begin January 6. The show runs two weekends in March (March 7-17). Shows are Thursday night, Saturday night, Sunday afternoon. Looking to fill this role ASAP.
