The Amish Country Theater in Walnut Creek, OH is looking for paid actors and actresses for its upcoming 2018 season. The Amish Country Theater is a live performance theater that performs live comedy variety shows for the 4 million tourists that visit Ohio’s Amish Country every year. The Theater company was voted a Top 100 Event in North America by the American Bus Association and performs for over 30,000 guests each year. The theater is looking to add talented individuals to its established professional cast. The 2018 brings an exciting chapter to the theater story with a brand new multi-million dollar theater building that will become the show’s new home in May. The 2018 show season begins May 15 and runs thru October. All acting positions are paid, and each character is double cast to allow scheduling flexibility. The role being cast would only perform on Thursday evenings and Saturdays. Actors/actresses are paid a competitive industry wage. My name is Carson Coombs & I am partnering with my friend, Jordan Meeker, to put on a short series entitled, ‘Elements with Four: The Search’. What is the series about? This show is about 4 teenagers. They all have different 'powers' and got them because of their past. Something happened to each of them, but they don't know what it is, they just know what their power is. They all meet each other and figure out they aren't alone, there are others that are in the same situation. Throughout the series, they try to figure out what happened to them to get their powers. This condensed version takes place in the woods outside Athens, a hilarious and heartwarming version in 30 minutes. Supported bya grant from the Cuyahoga Arts and Culture, TYA strives to present qualityshows that will introduce children and families to the wonders of livetheater. Avenue Arts Marketplace & Theatre announces auditions for THE LARAMIE PROJECT Located at 324 Cleveland Ave. NW Canton Ohio 44702 SYNOPSIS: In October 1998, a twenty-one-year-old student at the University of Wyoming was kidnapped, severely beaten, and left tied to a fence in the middle of the prairie outside Laramie, Wyoming. His bloody, bruised, and battered body was not discovered until the next day, and he died several days later in an area hospital. His name was Matthew Shepard, and he was the victim of this assault because he was gay. Moisés Kaufman and fellow members of the Tectonic Theater Project made six trips to Laramie over the course of a year and a half, in the aftermath of the beating and during the trial of the two young men accused of killing Shepard. They conducted more than 200 interviews with the people of the town. Some people interviewed were directly connected to the case, while others were citizens of Laramie, and the breadth of the reactions to the crime is fascinating. Kaufman and Tectonic Theater members have constructed a deeply moving theatrical experience from these interviews and their own experiences in Laramie. THE LARAMIE PROJECT is a breathtaking collage that explores the depths to which humanity can sink and the heights of compassion of which we are capable. Directed by: Jared Sparks, Co-Artistic Director Auditions will be held April 4th, from 7-9pm. All auditioners are asked to come prepared to cold read from the script.
