LCCC Theatre Program Presents “Dead Man’s Cell Phone” Lorain County Community College’s theatre program presents “Dead Man's Cell Phone” at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, April 26-28, in Stocker Arts Center's Cirigliano Studio Theatre. “Dead Man’s Cell Phone” is a wildly imaginative comedy by MacArthur “Genius” Grant recipient and Pulitzer Prize finalist Sarah Ruhl. A work about how we memorialize the dead – and how that remembering changes us – it is the odyssey of a woman forced to confront her own assumptions about morality, redemption and the need to connect in a technologically obsessed world. Ruhl is the 2003 recipient of the Whiting Award for Drama. This play contains adult language and subject matter that is not suitable for young children. Tickets are $9 for adults, $8 for LCCC students, staff and seniors 65 and up, and $7 a person for groups of 15 or more. *Auditions* Moonlight and Magnolias at Coach House Theatre

Coach House Theatre in Akron will hold auditions for its 90th Season finale Moonlight and Magnolias by Ron Hutchinson on Sunday April 22 @ 6:00 pm and Monday April 23 @7:00. No appointment necessary. Please arrive at start of auditions (if you need to arrange a time contact ccapocci(a)akronwomanscityclub.com) Rehearsals begin April 25th Performances-May 24-June 10 (Thurs-Sat 7:30 and Sun 2:00) Please have ALL conflict dates at auditions. Cast Breakdown: David O. Selznick- producer of Gone with the Wind Ben Hecht- famed Hollywood screenwriter Victor Fleming- director of The Wizard of OZ Miss Poppenguhl- secretary to David O. Selznick Non traditional casting and age flexibility (over age 21) are being considered at this time. All are encouraged to audition. Synopsis: Legendary Hollywood producer David O. Selznick has a problem. He has just fired the director of Gone with the Wind and the script is on its umpteenth version. He desperately needs a new director and writer—immediately. However, the writer he wants, Ben Hecht, has never read the novel. Selznick gives him a brief synopsis of the story and offers him $15,000 to write a revised screenplay by the end of the week. Selznick also calls in director Victor Fleming, pulling him from finishing The Wizard of Oz to be the new director of Gone with the Wind. Hecht is still not sold on the success of the storyline, but Selznick believes in this movie, so much so that he locks the three of them in his office for five days, with bananas and peanuts as their only food, to pull together a new script. Work begins. Selznick and Fleming attempt to act out all the characters in the novel while Hecht types. Early in the week, Hecht and Fleming constantly clash. By day three, fatigue, hunger and sarcasm prevail. Tempers flare. There’s even an attempt to escape from the office—if only for just a shower and a meal. By the end of the week, Selznick asks, “Is there anything wrong with getting the job done, no matter what it takes?” Completing this job may take everything these men have to give! Please note: We have added one additional audition date for *Sunday, April 15 7:30PM - 9PM AUDITION NOTICE: A Midsummer Night’s Dream: Shake|ing up the|speare The cast of William Shakespeare’s comedy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream: Shake|ing up the|spear, will shake things up and go on a creative journey to produce a one-of-a-kind adaptation of this classic comedy. The cast will be an ensemble cast, roles will be decided during the rehearsal process. Be 'fraid naught, we will make it all make sense! Auditions will be held at 225 High Street, Fairport Harbor, Ohio 44077. Audition times are open, please arrive when you can and your audition will be facilitated in the order of arrival. AUDITION DATES: Wednesday, April 11, 2018 3 PM – 5 PM; Friday, April 13, 2018 3 PM – 5 PM; *Sunday, April 15 7:30PM - 9PM Monday, April 16, 2018 3 PM – 5 PM; Tuesday, April 17, 2018 3 PM – 5 PM; CALL BACKS: Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 3PM AND/OR 6 PM.
