Broadview Heights Spotlights to show Horton Foote’s Family ComedyDividing the Estate Broadview Heights, OH – March 5, 2018 Horton Foote’s play Dividing the Estate will be performed at Broadview Heights Spotlights this spring, running April 27 to May 12. Dividing the Estate is the story of the Gordon clan, a Texas family who has been hard hit by the precipitous drop in oil prices in 1987. Family matriarch Stella rules over the family, but she is 85 years old, and her family smells their inheritance coming. Her younger daughter, Mary Jo, comes to visit for the day along with her husband, and their two daughters, prompting a family get-together. Mary Jo is deeply in debt and wants to divide the estate before her mother dies. Various members of the family, including the servants, take sides in the debate and wonder how much, if anything, there actually is to inherit. The family bickers as only a Southern family can, mentioning every slight and insult that has occurred over the past 80 years. The Spotlights’ production is directed by Brenton Cochran, and features a cast including Clorise Busch, Tara Corkery, Brett Heidinger, Dave Hopkins, Hayley Johnson, Stephanie Malfara (also serving as the production’s Stage Manager), Cheryl McConnell, Sean McCormick, Katie Morilak, Jaclyn Phelps, Sarah Price, Austin Sasser, and Kerstin Vaughn. Other production staff members include Adam Bowers and Jean Brennan (Co-Producers), Katie Atkinson and Jill Kenderes (Costumers) and Tim Anderson (Technical Director & Set Designer). Performance dates are April 27 through May 12. Performances will occur on Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m., and there will be a Sunday matinee on Sunday, May 6 at 3:00 p.m. All performances are held at the Broadview Heights Cultural Arts Building, 9543 Broadview Road in Broadview Heights (next to the police station).Tickets are $14 for adults and $13 for seniors and students. This position will work directly with the Production Stage Manager to ensure the smooth execution of the show. Start date would be August 7, 2018 for prep and August 14, 2018 for rehearsals. Opening Night is August 31. Production closes September 9. All rehearsals and performances are at Cuyahoga Community College - Eastern Campus. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1) Work with the PSM to ensure that all AEA rules are followed; 2) Create show specific paperwork which may include (but is not limited to): props tracking, run sheets, contact sheets, schedules, etc.; 3) Oversee the running of the deck during tech and show calls; 4) Serve as a primary point of contact for both the artistic and production staffs QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with ASM'ing large musicals A motivated self-starter who can anticipate the needs of a production and help to facilitate them A calm, level-headed individual who knows how to balance the work that needs to be done with the fun that should accompany every process Exceptionally detail oriented and able to generate clear, efficient paperwrk This position will be operating under an Equity contract (LOA ref. AUDITION NOTICE: A Midsummer Night’s Dream: Shake|ing up the|speare The cast of William Shakespeare’s comedy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream: Shake|ing up the|spear, will shake things up and go on a creative journey to produce a one-of-a-kind adaptation of this classic comedy. The cast will be an ensemble cast and roles will be decided during the rehearsal process. Be 'fraid naught, we will make it all make sense! Auditions will be held at 225 High Street, Fairport Harbor, Ohio 44077. Audition times are open, please arrive when you can and your audition will be facilitated in the order of arrival. AUDITION DATES: Wednesday, April 11, 2018 3 PM – 5 PM; Friday, April 13, 2018 3 PM – 5 PM; Monday, April 16, 2018 3 PM – 5 PM; Tuesday, April 17, 2018 3 PM – 5 PM; CALL BACKS: Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 3PM AND/OR 6 PM.
