*Ohio Youth Ensemble Stage returns to present “Disney, The Jungle Book Kids!” Medina, Ohio, June 18 , 2018—To coincide with its two year anniversary, Ohio Youth Ensemble Stage (OHYES) will present a delightful classic musical, “The Jungle Book Kids!” Based on the novel by Rudyard Kipling and the Disney film, “The Jungle Book Kids” will be presented at the Haddad Theatre, 144 N Broadway Street, Medina, OH. Performances are Thursday, June 28 at 7 PM, Friday, June 29 at 7 PM, Saturday, June 30 at 2 PM and 7 PM, and Sunday, July 1 at 2 PM. Tickets are $10. OHYES! welcomes students and families at all levels of experience because we believe every child deserves to be a star on stage. Every member of the cast and crew has worked incredibly hard for a final product we can all be proud of.”The production includes students from Medina, Summit and Cuyahoga counties. “The Jungle Book Kids” will be led by Ian McLaughlin as Mowgli, Emileo Fernandez as Bagheera, Trey Smith as Baloo, Owen Kranz as Shere Khan, Rebecca Marzloff as Shanti, Makenna Byrne as King Louie, Ian Blair as Colonel Hathi, Sid Kranz as Dizzy the Vulture, Isabelle George as Ziggy the Vulture, and Bridget Chandler-Holtz as Kaa. Kaa’s Coils will be played by Riley Hayes, Emily Winnicky, Madison Schaner, Ella Barberic, and Bree Obhof. She went to AZ to study and becomes a Naturopathic doctor. Then she moved back to Ohio to take care of her stepfather. After getting caught practicing certain things which are not allowed, she determines for Ohio to license naturopathic doctors because she believes in freedom. Because she is a Thai, the story will present the contrast of original eastern culture and western culture about approaching health, disease, cure, relationship, ways of thinking in an entertaining and inspiring way. Verb Ballets Returns To Cain Park With Free Performance Directors’ Choice will delight audiences with both classical selections and bold adventures works CLEVELAND, OH - Verb Ballets returns to Cain Park Evans Amphitheater on Friday, June 29, 2018 for a free performance as a gift to the community! Sponsored by Cleveland Heights residents and Verb Ballets' board members, James D. Graham and David M. Dusek, the program will delight audiences with both classical selections and bold adventures works. Entitled Director's Choice, Verb’s Directors Dr. Margaret Carlson and Richard Dickinson, MFA have chosen their favorite works from the 17-18 as the final performance celebrating Verb’s 30th anniversary. Classical music enthusiasts will enjoy the choreographic inventiveness in Heinz Poll's, Schubert Waltzes noted as, "catapults ordinary waltz steps into a delightful combination of classicism and wit". Verb Ballets' dancers will dazzle in a display of classical technique full of speed and high spirits in Tarantella, staged by former Cleveland Ballet dancer, Pamela Pribisco. Also featured is Dark Matter, an intense physical contemporary work by award winning Philadelphia choreographer Tommie-Waheed Evans, described by critics as, "sleek encounters that brim with contrasting patterns and connections". Verb Ballets' dancer and choreographer, Michael Escovedo, remounts Broken Bridges to tell a family story of struggle with mental illness set to the haunting music of Shostakovich. International dance critics have reviewed Verb Ballets' performances as, “classical ballet with a dash of American modern dance”.
