Audition for: Students' Film and Video Productions Casting Call held: Friday, Oct 25, from 9:15am to 12:30pm Where: Tri-C Campus, 11000 W Pleasant Valley Rd, Parma, OH 44130 An AUDITION (open to all) for film students' projects at Cuyahoga Comm. College (all to be shot in October and November). The student teams will make various short projects (see below). There are 3-4 different teams, so we need several actors. You can try out for one of these below, or ALL projects: -- “DOCUMENTARY INTERVIEW”: for documentary style INTERVIEW, you (ACTOR or ARTIST of any kind) will be interviewed about your work and career (the questions will be submitted in advance to those who are selected at the audition). If interested to be interviewed, you must attend our audition and introduce yourself and your creative work. An interview-shooting day is in late October or early November. Later, you can use this video for your personal sites and publicity. -- “DRAMATIC MONOLOGUE”: for this project, selected actors will prepare dramatic monologue or performance. Prepare a 1-2 minutes monologue (must be original written content or public domain story) and attend our audition. Those who are selected will be informed the same day, and the shooting day is within 2 weeks of audition -- SHORT FILM or MUSIC VIDEO: you will audition for a LEAD ROLE in student-produced films or music videos. At the audition, you will read from our scripts (cold read), and you can also prepare a very short monologue. If you’re a recording artist, feel free to perform your song. The short film or music video shoots are scheduled for mid-November. __________________________________ These projects will be produced by Cuyahoga Community College's beginner level film students (an "Intro to Filmmaking" class). Several students who completed this course in previous years – are now proud graduates of Tri-C, and newly established Cleveland film artists, videographers, and crew members on big union films shot in Ohio! They all started in this class. WHERE: Tri-C Campus in Parma, Ohio (park in "visitor"; walk to central campus area); If lost, ask police officers in hallways to show you G107 room. WHO SHOULD COME: This type of collaboration is perfect for beginner (or intermediate) level actors who need more footage for their first demo-reel. By having a Demo Reel, you will be able to seek industry representation (agent). ABOUT PROJECTS: each of these projects give you a lot of screen time and dialogue or monologue lines. They are all LEAD roles. These are unpaid (collaboration) gigs. Get your first credit, your demo footage, and establish new relationships with like-minded content creators. Also, if you have NO screen acting experience, but you truly BELIEVE that you have what it takes - COME and try out! TIMELINE: These projects are 1-day (half a day) shoots. The work must be fully edited by early December. The videos will be available online when completed and you can ask students for HD download copy. AUDITION: It's a “walk-in” audition (cold read from our scripts or short personal monologue - if desired). Newly divorced 38-year-old Elizabeth, an urban planner, moves to New York City for a fresh start. She meets her friends Kate, a kindergarten teacher, and Lucas, a community organizer, in Madison Square Park. Kate suggests that Elizabeth start using the name "Liz" and seek out new experiences. Lucas suggests that she go back to her college nickname, "Beth," and start making professional connections in the city. The musical then shows both possibilities playing out. "Liz" stays in the park with Kate while "Beth" leaves with Lucas, and the remainder of the show depicts two paths that Elizabeth's life could take. ("Prologue/What If") Got it? I bet not. Wonderful music and a confusing if not great book. Emerging Playwright Reading Series seeks plays currently in development for Staged Readings. Stow Players is continuing their Emerging Playwright Reading Series in 2019/2020. This opportunity is open to playwrights within a three hour drive of Stow, OH (NE Ohio, Akron suburb) who have a piece that is currently in development and ready for a Staged Reading. We are not accepting pieces that have already had a fully staged production. We require that playwrights who are chosen for a reading will attend the reading to facilitate and receive audience feedback. Our Reading Committee is accepting rolling submissions, so if we can’t fit your reading into this season we may keep it in mind for next season. All playwrights who submit will be notified of their submission’s status in a timely manner. Scheduling will be based on the availability of the space, directors, and playwright.
