Position: Young Performer Supervisor Department: A Christmas Story Reports to: Producing Associate Supervises: A Christmas Story Young Performers Cleveland Play House, America’s first regional theatre and recipient of the 2015 Regional Theatre Tony Award, is accepting applications for a Young Performer Supervisor to work on our production of A Christmas Story from Tuesday, November 19 through Monday, December 23, 2019. This Supervisor will work with a lead Young Performer Supervisor on the daily management of seven young performers and three young understudies on the production. QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS * Qualified applicants must be able to follow instructions, be reliable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented. * Experience working with children required. * Experience working in stage management or run crew on live theatre productions is a plus. * The Young Performer Supervisor will need to pass a criminal background check prior to first day of employment. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES * Communicate with parents/guardians of young performers on a daily basis. * Report any issues concerning young performers to stage manager in a timely manner. * Oversee drop-off and pick-up of young performers by their parents/guardians in rehearsal hall and theatre. * Ensure that young performers properly complete their role during rehearsals and performances * Collaborate with the lead Young Performer Supervisor to establish a consistent track for the young performers during performances. * Oversee completion of school work when young performers are not actively in rehearsal/performance (supervisor is not expected to act as a tutor, but is expected to keep young performers focused). * Assist in running lines and reviewing blocking as needed. * Other duties as assigned by stage management. Hours are mostly nights and weekends with some morning and afternoon calls. Part-time, seasonal. He has trained under other prominent dancers and choreographers such as New York City Ballet’s Nilas Martins, Bodiography’s Maria Caruso, and Ballet West’s Bruce Marks. He looks forward to performing widely renowned classical and contemporary work as well as developing his own choreographic style. Nov. 3 Songwriters Concert to Raise the Roof

North Eaton Christian Church has invited back two songwriters from its April, 2019 concert for the November installment of its "Raise the Roof" monthly concert series. Ken Moody-Arndt and Bob Sammon will perform on Sunday, November 3, at 3 p.m. for a one-hour concert of their original material. Ken delighted the church's April audience with his songs about faith, doubt, lost love, loneliness, love and marriage, and his generally trying to make sense of life. As a retired pastor, he's seen it all and knows what he's talking about! Bob, a prolific performer in and around Northeast Ohio who was another crowd favorite from the church's April concert, brings songs that come from the heart, sharing music that is at once personal and universal, from the touching to the hilarious. A freewill offering will benefit the church's roof fund. A reception, with refreshments, will follow the concert. Actors Needed! An AUDITION (open to all) for film students' projects at Cuyahoga Comm. College (all to be shot in October and November). The student teams will make various short projects (see below). There are 3-4 different teams, so we need several actors. You can try out for one of these below, or ALL projects: -- “DOCUMENTARY INTERVIEW”: for documentary style INTERVIEW, you (ACTOR or ARTIST of any kind) will be interviewed about your work and career (the questions will be submitted in advance to those who are selected at the audition). If interested to be interviewed, you must attend our audition and introduce yourself and your creative work. An interview-shooting day is in late October or early November. Later, you can use this video for your personal sites and publicity. -- “DRAMATIC MONOLOGUE”: for this project, selected actors will prepare dramatic monologue or performance. Prepare a 1-2 minutes monologue (must be original written content or public domain story) and attend our audition. Those who are selected will be informed the same day, and the shooting day is within 2 weeks of audition -- SHORT FILM or MUSIC VIDEO: you will audition for a LEAD ROLE in student-produced films or music videos. At the audition, you will read from our scripts (cold read), and you can also prepare a very short monologue. If you’re a recording artist, feel free to perform your song. The short film or music video shoots are scheduled for mid-November. __________________________________ These projects will be produced by Cuyahoga Community College's beginner level film students (an "Intro to Filmmaking" class). Several students who completed this course in previous years – are now proud graduates of Tri-C, and newly established Cleveland film artists, videographers, and crew members on big union films shot in Ohio! They all started in this class. WHERE: Tri-C Campus in Parma, Ohio (park in "visitor"; walk to central campus area); If lost, ask police officers in hallways to show you G107 room. WHO SHOULD COME: This type of collaboration is perfect for beginner (or intermediate) level actors who need more footage for their first demo-reel. By having a Demo Reel, you will be able to seek industry representation (agent). ABOUT PROJECTS: each of these projects give you a lot of screen time and dialogue or monologue lines. They are all LEAD roles. These are unpaid (collaboration) gigs. Get your first credit, your demo footage, and establish new relationships with like-minded content creators. Also, if you have NO screen acting experience, but you truly BELIEVE that you have what it takes - COME and try out! TIMELINE: These projects are 1-day (half a day) shoots. The work must be fully edited by early December. The videos will be available online when completed and you can ask students for HD download copy. AUDITION: It's a “walk-in” audition (cold read from our scripts or short personal monologue - if desired).
