Independence Community Theater presents A Clear View which is a series of three one act plays. The one acts cover the range of theater from comedy to drama, so you’ll be sure to leave the theater with a fulfilling experience. The plays are: "The Whole Shebang" by Rich Orloff (This play asks the question, "What if the entire universe was just some nerd's science project?"), "The Green Hill" by David Ives (Jake has a vision of a lovely green hill where he feels free and at peace. He knows the hill is real, and he has to go there...but the hill's real location proves to be elusive.), "A Long Trip" by Dan McGeehan (An elderly man desperately attempts to connect with his wife one last time before he loses her completely to dementia.) ORGANIST/PIANIST Old South Church UCC in Kirtland, OH is seeking a part-time organist/pianist to play for our 10:30 a.m. Sunday service and to accompany the Chancel Choir which rehearses on Thursday evenings. The church has a 2-manual Wicks pipe organ. A skilled pianist with the some ability to play the organ would be considered. This position regularly runs from September through May. Playing for summer services is optional and paid separately. This is a progressive and welcoming congregation that appreciates good music. If you don't know where Kirtland is: the church is easily reached by taking route 306-S off of I-90 east of 271. It is near Lakeland Community College and Holden Arboretum. *Open Call Auditions for the NE Ohio locally produced premiere of Roald Dahl’s **"Matilda the Musical"** will be held at Lakewood's Beck Center on Saturday, Feb. 16th (beginning at 2PM) and Sunday Feb. 17th (beginning at 6:30PM).* *Callbacks will likely be Sat. 2/23 in the afternoon and Mon. 2/25 in the evening.* *Appointments can be made for audition slots by calling **216-521-2540 x10 **during regular Beck Center business hours.* *Performances for **“Matilda”* *begin July 12th and continue through August 11th. Rehearsals will begin approximately June 1st.* *Artistic Director Scott Spence seeks a diverse cast of 25. All roles are open. Two Equity Contracts are available (SPT Tier 4). All other actors 18 and over receive a stipend for their participation. In addition, EMC (Equity Members Candidacy) points will be available for actors in this production. It is anticipated that actors will receive* *10 weeks of EMC points **for **“Matilda”. **Larry Goodpaster is the Musical Director and Martin Cespedes is the Choreographer.* *All available roles are singing roles, so auditioners should prepare one 90 second or less musical theatre selection. Please bring sheet music in your key. An accompanist will be provided. A capella singing is discouraged. Dance calls will be part of the callback process only.* *The age-range for this cast is varied. Matilda and her 8 classmates***** are traditionally played as 7 to 10 year olds. Young actors auditioning for these roles should have the “appearance” of being able to pull off these ages, but slightly older actors for these roles are ideal. Height will play an important part of casting in these circumstances, and between 4 feet and 5 feet is definitely the sweet spot. No young actors under the age of 8 will be seen for thisproduction. It is possible that the role of Matilda may be double cast.* *The remainder of the cast ranges between 16 and 55. This Oscar Wilde classic ("a trivial comedy for serious people") uses humor to play with themes of society, marriage and relationships in a witty manner. Directed by Russ Borski, this cheeky production is lush with mistaken identities, plot twists and madcap action. Earnest is often categorized as a comedy of manners, using humor and satire to address more serious themes of social standing and inter-personal relationships. "As these issues are underplayed, trivial matters in life such as the choice of eating bread and butter as compared with having cake are given serious discussion," Borski said. "Wilde elevates the simple act of speech to a competitive sport, with verbal sparring turned into an Olympic event." The all CSU cast includes Casie Griffis (Miss Prism), Aaron Levigne (Rev. Split Creative, a digital media company located in Cleveland, Ohio is looking for a host/hostess for a Esports TV show. Split Creative is looking for an experienced host/hostess to join our lifestyle and entertainment program that will air on the Armed Forces TV Network. The ideal candidate will have entertainment hosting or reporting experience and will be comfortable in an on-location and in-studio setting, in both a scripted and non-scripted environment. Strong interviewing and story development skills needed. The host/hostess will be the face of the program and is required to have a strong personality, excellent communication skills and the ability to engage an audience. The host/hostess will work both in-studio in our Cleveland studio and on-location as content dictates. Most of the time will be spent in Cleveland with some additional time spent at various Esports tournaments. The host/hostess will also contribute story ideas, write scripts, arrange interviews and provide fact-checking. Work performed is for all media platforms and initiatives, including for example: on-air, web, digital and social media. The host/hostess collaborates with producers and news management in the development of content for news shows, promotions, and online. May appear in promotions as assigned. The host/hostess must be comfortable in front of large crowds, with strong improvisational skills and the ability to think quickly on your feet. A great, engaging voice that commands attention and delivers assigned messages with impact is a must. - Previous on-camera experience. - Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications or related field, or equivalent training and/or experience. - Must be able to interview and speak on-camera. - Must provide a headshot. - Provide Video if possible. - Knowledge of current video games and Esports is preferred, but not necessary. - Ability to commit to 13 episodes that will be created between now and October 2019. - Ability to interpret information quickly and summarize into a clear, concise, relevant and understandable presentation. - Willingness to travel to a few Esports tournaments. - Must be a strong team player and able to work with other talents, production crew, and staff - Must be a skilled communicator capable of speaking to a diverse audience and conveying messages effectively.
