Join Us On AUGUST, 5TH For Our Next General Meeting The next meeting of the Songwriter Summit (nee: Summit County Songwriter Circle) will be held on August 5th at the Cuyahoga Falls Library, 2015 Third Street, Cuyahoga Falls, OH. Our general meeting begins at 6:45 PM and is usually over by 9 o’clock. Meetings feature presentations of new songs or works in progress offered by members and non-members alike. You do not need to be a member to present a song and you do not need to be a writer to attend the meeting. Members discuss the songs, offer gentle critique and comment as requested by the performer. Songwriter Summit exists to connect songwriters throughout the area and has members that often travel from Pennsylvania and West Virginia to attend. Our musical tastes cover a wide variety of genres and styles and all are welcome. It's going to be...SHAKESPEARE! *The Comedy of Errors is Shakespeare's most fast-paced and farcical comedy, with much of the humor coming from mistaken identity, puns and word play. Michael Dempsey’s modern adaptation retains Shakespeare's comic gems, even as it ups the silliness quotient by throwing slapstick, topical references, song satires and clowning into the mix. Antipholus searches for his long-lost identical twin brother, Antipholus, while his "personal assistant" Dromio searches for his long-lost identical twin brother, Dromio. Two sets of twins with the same name, running around the same city -- what could go wrong? For those who’ve never performed Shakespeare but have wanted to try, this is the perfect entry show. This is one of Shakespeare’s easiest plays in terms of verse. It also has modern language and references thrown in. Director Michael Dempsey was professionally trained in Shakespeare at the National Theatre of Great Britain and took master classes at the Royal Shakespeare Company in London. He’s great at taking the fear out of acting Shakespeare and making it a rewarding experience for newbies and veterans alike. *AUDITION REQUIREMENTS: *Previous experience performing Shakespeare is not required. Dance Instructor Role We are looking for a delightful and committed Dance Instructor who is passionate about their studio work with children and their families, student-focused in their pedagogy, organized, reliable, an outstanding communicator, and a dedicated team player. Independence Community Theater Presents Auditions for 'Hello Dolly' Directed by Richard Todd Music Directed by Gregory Paparizos Choreography by Debbie Conway and Christine Ritchea *When/Where:* August 11th and 12th, 7:00 p.m. Callbacks (by invitation) August 15th, 7:00 p.m. Production runs November 1st - 16th *Audition Info:* Auditions will consist of a group dance audition, followed by individual vocal auditions. We ask that you prepare a song which showcases your vocal range (under 90 sec. / bring sheet music / an accompanist will be provided). Songs from the show are acceptable but not required. Please dress for movement, and bring your calendar with any and all conflicts from auditions through November. Readings from the script will be held at callbacks. *Cast of Characters (ALL ROLES AVAILABLE):* Mrs. Dolly Gallagher Levi - An indefatigable, meddling matchmaker of strikingly dramatic appearance; a widow in her middle years. Ernestina - A heavy-set girl in need of Mrs. Levi's services. Ambrose Kemper - A young artist seeking to marry Ermengarde. Horace Vandergelder - Proprietor of a Hay and Feed Store in Yonkers, New York, and a client of Mrs. Levi's. A widower of some means. Ermengarde - The 17 year old niece of Horace Vandergelder. Cornelius Hackl - Vandergelder's chief clerk, 33 years old. Barnaby Tucker - An assistant to Cornelius, 17 years old. Minnie Fay - A young girl who works in Irene Molly's shop. Irene Molloy - A millineress with a hat shop near 14th Street in New York City. Mrs. Levi has introduced her to Mr. Vandergelder. Mrs. Rose - (chorus) Sells vegetables f eom a street cart, a friend of Mrs. Levi's f eom years before. Rudolph Reisenweber - (chorus) The Prussian major-domo of the Harmonia Gardens restaurant. Stanley - A young waiter at the Harmonia Gardens.
