Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach (ORMACO) invites you to come and enjoy its inaugural concert at its new location at 8187 Camp Road, Homerville, Ohio 44235 by *Cleveland-based early music ensemble **Affekt! *on *Saturday, October 10, 2020, at 2 pm.* Presenting music in a fun and engaging manner, this outdoor, socially distanced concert will include Handel’s keyboard suite “The Harmonious Blacksmith” and French violin virtuoso Jean-Marie Leclair’s “Sonata in A minor”. Listen for bird calls in Jose Herrando’s charming Sonata “In the Gardens of Spain”! The concert will conclude with the Ohio premiere of Mariannes Martinez’s harpsichord “Sonata in G major” and Bertali’s lively “Chaconne”, a piece that will surely leave you in high spirits. Bring your lawn chairs. Face masks required. The concert is free, but donations appreciated to help sustain future arts programming. Then, on *Sunday, October 11, 2020, at 2 pm*, ORMACO will continue its live-streamed concert series with Canton-based musician *John Doscher*. The program will focus on the evolution of the mandolin becoming an important instrument in American music from its European roots. A versatile musician, who has performed throughout the U.S., Doscher has been playing the guitar for over 40 years. He also plays ukulele and banjo. Mentor based pop/rock/dance band is looking for 2 attractive, theatrically oriented females to front an all-original band. Something along the lines of a modern ABBA. Practices are twice a week from 6pm to 9pm (to be determined based on people's schedules). 20 songs have already been written and arranged, so we are looking for vocalists now. Directed by Dr. Brian Schultis, UA Senior Lecturer of Theatre, the playpoem features a cast of 6 UA students. UA’s “The Waves” welcomes the opportunities of a virtual platform and will question what’s possible in the current landscape of live performance. He is forcing them to entertain the spirits that are preventing theatres to open. The cabaret will include Halloween favorites such as Monster Mash, Witchcraft, I Put a Spell on You, Defying Gravity, and many others from genres like Rock, Pop, and Musical Theatre. Grab the opportunity to safely see this show in person. Don't worry if you are not ready to come back to the theatre just yet, we will be capturing the magic for our YouTube page to be released on October 25. Her story is inspired by the lives and work of other female artists (Sylvia Plath, Virginia Woolf, Anne Sexton, Marylin Monroe, etc.). Her poetic monologue is an astronaut’s shout in space, a place where sound waves can’t travel. She is a clown afraid of clowns, an actress trying to free herself from her persona. Open Roles (1, 2, & 3) Amanda Reis: 25-40, a classy female writer. *The role of Amanda Reis is played by three actresses, all in the stated age range.
