Several of her plays, including *“For the Love of a Leica”* and *“Choices"* were produced as part of the Colombi New Plays Festival held at Ensemble each March. Her play, *“Invisible,”* slated for opening in late March 2020, was sidelined by Covid19. *GOODNUFF* :: By *Edward J. Walsh* :: Soured on people and life, the disabled Black owner of a pawnshop confronts a young man who may be a threat or a godsend. Starring :: *Peter Lawson Jones* **as Mr Goodnuff* :: *Kyle Carthens* *as Cornelius Carter* :: *Ed Walsh *has worn a lot of hats during his writing career in Northeast Ohio, but his favorite one is that of the playwright. Laboring as a lone wolf or sometimes as a collaborator, he has seen a number of his efforts make it to the stage. In Northeast Ohio, his work has been produced at Dobama Theatre, Cuyahoga Community College-Western CampusTheatre, Berea Summer Theatre, Kent State University, John Carroll University, and Chagrin Valley Little Theatre-River Street Playhouse. Two of Walsh’s plays were performed as part of The Colombi New Plays Festival at Ensemble Theatre in recent years. One of these, “One-on-One," deals with the confrontation between two white kids and a lone African-American kid on a neighborhood basketball court. The play was later published, as was Walsh’s adaptation of “Frankenstein.” The only question is, "What will come out from under that hat next?":: *ZOOM WENT THE STRINGS OF MY HEART* :: By *Molly McFadden* :: "Zoom Went the Strings of My Heart" is about seeking company, companionship, and comfort during these days of isolation and loneliness. Learn to open your own shop and build your online business. Topics include creating compelling listings, finding your target customers, getting found in search, branding, marketing, taking good photos, pricing strategies, and customer service. The content is geared to new Etsy sellers who do not currently have a shop or have only sold a few items. Sellers who are intermediate to advanced (have sold on Etsy for several years or have more than 20 sales) will find the content to be too basic. In this workshop, you will create a work of 3-dimensional work of art in the form of a shoe. Gather materials you can collage that show your interests. Have a pair of scissors and some newsprint or paper you can stuff in a shoe. The only purchase you may need to make is for 2 rolls of 2” clear wrapping tape. *Broadview Heights Spotlights Theater presents* *"THE SECRET LIFE OF GIRLS"* *Streaming October 3-11, 2020* Written by Linda Daugherty, this show is based upon interviews with girls on the giving and receiving end of bullying. The play highlights the impact of cyberbullying, the facilitation of mean-spirited behaviors through the use of cell phones, text and instant messaging, e-mail and chat rooms. The portrayal of the sobering reality of these girls' lives can start at-home conversations, providing the opportunity to reveal the secrets and address the complexities which dominate the lives of many young women. Created entirely remotely, from auditions through rehearsals, the production was recorded and digitally edited by Tim Anderson. The Family Streaming Ticket price is $20 and is available at www.broadview-heights-spotlights.org October 3-11, 2020 This show is appropriate for adults and children ages 10 and up. Show themes include friendship, gossip, bullying, electronic communication, and self-inflicted cutting. School of Dancing Wheels Updated Fall Schedule!

Hello! If you are still looking for dance classes for students of all ages and abilities, please consider our classes at the School of Dancing Wheels. Located in Midtown Cleveland, just east of CSU campus, our accessible studios allow our talented teaching artists to offer classes to students both disabled and non-disabled alike. As most organizations have learned regarding their programming throughout 2020--nothing is the same as we once knew due to COVID-19. As such, the School of Dancing Wheels is committed to adapting as necessary in order to continue providing our physically integrated classes for students of all abilities. We seek to ensure that our studios remain safe spaces for dancers, so our Fall Session 2020 schedule has been updated accordingly to allow for 15 minute breaks between each class. This time will be utilized to sanitize commonly touched surfaces, wash hands, and provide the dancers with short breaks in between classes. These changes will begin the week of Monday, October 12th. Our updated Fall Session 2020 Class Schedule is as follows: Tuesdays, 5-6pm - Yoga Wednesdays, 5-6pm - Tap Thursdays, 5-6pm - Contemporary Saturdays, 10-11am - Adult/Teen Ballet Saturdays, 11:15am-12:15pm - Jazz Funk Saturdays, 12:30pm-1:30pm - Wheelchair Technique Saturdays, 1:45pm-2:45pm - Performance Ensemble Please note: This updated schedule requires a later ending time for our Saturday afternoon classes. The Performance Ensemble will now be released at 2:45pm, rather than 2:30pm. In addition, Wheelchair Technique has been extended to a full hour. This foundational class allows students of all abilities to understand the translation of choreography, the various types of propulsions and turns that we practice, and they can in turn apply these techniques to all of their physically integrated classes at the School of Dancing Wheels. Drop-in Classes We are pleased to be offering drop-in classes at the School of Dancing Wheels. While many studios have decided to not allow drop-ins from students not registered for the entirety of their Fall programming, we feel that it is important to offer a safe and supportive environment in which dancers of all abilities can find continued physical and creative expression. We are following many COVID-19 health & safety practices, including taking temperatures and sanitizing hands immediately upon arrival, wearing masks at all times while at our accessible studios, and socially distancing in class.
