Shakespeare at the Castle, at the historic Glamorgan Castle, enters their 11th professional season with ROMEO & JULIET. The final 4 shows are this week; August 1 through the 4. All shows begin at 7:00 PM. In the event of rain, the show will go on at the Giese Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of the University of Mount Union. Last year, 900 patrons joined us to hear and see the story of Much Ado About Nothing. You sat side by side with neighbors, friends, family, and total strangers, and laughed as one; what a remarkable experience live theatre can provide. If you’ve been to our productions before, then you know that our shows are perfect for the family. If you’re new to Shakespeare at The Castle, you’ll understand why our audiences tell us that our performances are perfect for Shakespeare fans, as well as those who have had less experience with the Bard’s work. This summer we’ll offer the classic tale of the love and the capriciousness of youth – Romeo & Juliet. It’s a story you may think you know, but in this production, you’ll discover far more than you thought you knew about this timeless story. Auditions for The Wedding Singer at the Broadview Heights Spotlights

Auditions for “The Wedding Singer” Based on the 1998 New Line Cinema film starring Adam Sandler, this romantic musical comedy features an 80s-inspired score of original songs and features a large cast with lots of featured opportunities. Auditions will be held by appointment on Thursday, August 29 from 6:00PM - 9:00PM and Saturday, August 31 from 2:00PM to 5:00PM. No Equity contracts are available for this show. Invited callbacks, if necessary, will occur the afternoon of Sunday, September 1. Rehearsals will begin on Monday, September 9. The show runs November 8 - 23. The show will be directed by Tim Anderson, music directed by Ryan Bergeron, and choreographed by Reilly Davidson. Those auditioning should: - Plan to attend only one day of auditions. - Be familiar with the show and its music and themes. - Prepare two one-minute, contrasting songs (one up-tempo, one ballad), at least one of these should be a rock song in the style of the show. - Bring sheet music in the correct keys, hole-punched in a three-ring binder. Singers will not be permitted to sing a cappella. - Bring a list of conflicts between September 9 and November 23. The Millennial Theatre Project presents "Say It Loud" - a powerful collection of real stories depicting the African American experience of living in Akron, Ohio. We are currently seeking two talented black female actors to join our upcoming tour. This non-union opportunity offers compensation for both rehearsal time and performances. Our tour is scheduled to encompass 4 shows between November 10th and November 23rd of this year.
