The Singers' Club of Cleveland presents our spring concert, Let Me Tell You a Story, a selection of story songs ranging from sea shanties to poems; from folk songs to storytelling narratives. Join us for this at-times rollicking, and other times reverent, exploration of music that tells a story. The performance will be on *Friday, April 11, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at The Church of the Saviour, 2537 Lee Road, Cleveland Heights.* Established in 1891, The Singers’ Club of Cleveland has a rich and continuous history of presenting the finest music for men's voices, dynamic young soloists, and internationally known guest artists. I Believe! Knitted Voices of Faith and Justice

The season concludes for the Cleveland Chamber Choir and BlueWater Chamber Orchestra May 17, 2025 at 7:30pm at Trinity Cathedral, Cleveland, with the two organizations joining forces for "I Believe! Knitted Voices of Faith and Justice." Mozart’s *Great Mass in C Minor* captivates with its classical elegance. It is paired with Margaret Bonds’ *Credo*, which sets text by W.E.B. DuBois, the pioneering sociologist, civil rights activist, and co-founder of the NAACP. Both works feature soprano Katherine Jolly, who has appeared on opera and concert stages throughout the country and is the winner of the prestigious Metropolitan Opera National Council Grand Finals. She is joined by bass Jelani Watkins, well-known to Cleveland audiences as a core member of the choir. Influenced by themes from *Credo*, and following the choir's collaboration in December, the choir has named the music program at the Cleveland School of the Arts as their charitable partner. Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 7:30pm, at Trinity Cathedral, 2230 Euclid Ave., Cleveland Charles Edward McGuire, PhD, from Oberlin College & Conservatory, will present a pre-concert talk, 45 minutes prior to the performance. *Do you want to Be Part of a Funny, Funny Show? * *Auditions for Funny Little Thing Called Love by Jones, Hope and Wooten* *SUNDAY, APRIL 13 AND MONDAY, APRIL 14 at 7:00 at the theater.* Director Judy MacKeigan needs: 1 woman able to play aged 30-35 4 women able to play aged 50 and up 3 men able to play aged 50 and up This show consists of 5 scenes, each set in a different city, all on the night of a full moon. Actors will have the opportunity to play several different characters. Several dialects are used including those from Texas, Oklahoma, Georgia and London, England. Performances: May 29 - June 1 and June 6 - 8 Four rollicking tales of love include unexpected hilarious twists and turns. There’s an all too slick used car salesman that meets his match by three fed-up Juliettes; a honeymoon crashed by well-wishing co-workers of the bride; and an almost rooftop romance thwarted by an American tourist’s mid-life crisis that goes off the rails. CALLING ALL DIRECTORS! The Gates Mills Players are now accepting applications forDirectors for the 2026 season! The submission deadline is June 1, 2025. There is a small stipend associated with this role. To apply, please submit the following information to Shannon(a)GatesMillsPlayers.comfor consideration: 1) A copy of your theatre resume or the equivalentinformation written out in the email. For example, your previous experience,prior shows you’ve directed, any formal or informal training, etc. 2) Indicate which show slot (or both) that you areavailable to direct (March or November). 3) One or two shows you would be interested indirecting. If you do not have any in mind, please request our list of GMP Boardpre-approved shows to choose from. a. Criteria: i. No more than 10-12 actors – our stage,backstage, and green room cannot accommodate too many people. ii. We lean toward comedy, farce, or mystery shows.We are open to other projects. At this time, we cannot support musicals (physically and financially– we support them as an art form). iii. Single set designs work best. The alternative isa stylized set with smaller, modular moving parts. Please have an idea of the set design. You will then work with a designer to finalize the vision. 4) Acknowledge your commitment to directing at GMP.The GMP are a true community theater where the community of Players helpfacilitate the best quality production. As part of that community, we expectcertain behaviors and commitments. Directors are expected to cast the show(using Players where possible); pre-schedule rehearsals within the availabledays of the Community House; attend all rehearsals, set build days, and strike;use rehearsals to mold, shape, craft your vision of the show; and throughoutthe process, work collaboratively and respectfully with the production team(actors, stage managers, designers, crew, FOH, etc.).
