This includes any school activities/events, sports activities/events and classes you may be taking that would cause you to miss a scheduled rehearsal. Beck Center is seeking interested parties for scenic carpenter over hire hours beginning immediately. Workday hours fall between 9am and 5pm weekdays M thru F. Knowledge and ability in basic stage carpentry required along with proficiency in power tools. Scenic painting and electrics a plus, but carpentry skills a must. Weekly available hours range between 10 hrs/week and 30 hrs/week. Pay is $12/hour. There is a possibility this could lead to a full-time position in the near future. About This Workshop Whether you're an experienced singer trying out new material or a beginner preparing for your first musical audition, this is the class for you! Joanna May Cullinan (artistic director of Cain Park) will share tricks of the trade including song selection, communicating with the accompanist, dressing the part, and other tips on walking into a musical audition with your best foot forward. Students must prepare at least one cutting (apx. 32 bars or 1 minute of a song) to be coached one-on-one. Please bring your own sheet music in the proper key for the entire song. An accompanist will be provided. Having multiple songs prepared is encouraged, though not necessary. If time allows, we may work on more than one song per person. AUDITION CALL FOR LOCAL CLEVELAND DANCERS ON MARCH 15TH The Movement Project is hosting an open audition with Pam Tanowitz. Pam will be auditioning dancers for her upcoming project Recital #1 (five small dances for Cleveland). The Show will occupy historic Pilgrim Congregational Church March 22nd at 7pm and 9pm, and will be influenced by the unique space and individual dancers. Dancers from New York City-based Pam Tanowitz Dance will perform alongside performers from Cleveland’s The Movement Project and those local dancers selected from the audition. Western Reserve Playhouse Announces Auditions for “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf” by Edward Albee Show Dates May 31-June 15, 2019 SYNOPSIS: George, a professor at a small college, and his wife, Martha, have just returned home, drunk from a Saturday night party. Martha announces, amidst general profanity, that she has invited a young couple—an opportunistic new professor at the college and his shatteringly naïve new bride—to stop by for a nightcap. When they arrive the charade begins. The drinks flow and suddenly inhibitions melt. It becomes clear that Martha is determined to seduce the young professor, and George couldn't care less. But underneath the edgy banter, which is crossfired between both couples, lurks an undercurrent of tragedy and despair. George and Martha's inhuman bitterness toward one another is provoked by the enormous personal sadness that they have pledged to keep to themselves: a secret that has seemingly been the foundation for their relationship. In the end, the mystery in which the distressed George and Martha have taken refuge is exposed, once and for all revealing the degrading mess they have made of their lives. Hello NEOhioPAL! Playmakers Youth Theatre in Beachwood is in immediate need of a replacement for Alex the Lion in Madagascar The Musical. This is a lead role and we are looking to fill it with an actor in grades 7-9. We are open to casting a girl to play a boy for this part. Rehearsals are Sundays (1-3pm) and Mondays (630-830pm).
