Ashland University seeks a part-time Costume Studio Manager beginning August 2016. Costume Studio Manager (CSM) will serve as the staff supervisor in the Department of Theatre Costume Studio. CSM will directly oversee the student workers (paid and theatre lab students) in the construction of costumes for department productions; will work with student and guest costume designers to realize designs; will be responsible for any purchasing; will maintain the costume studio equipment, organize and maintain costume storage, and train student costume, hair & make-up crews; will coordinate costumes for Department of Music Madrigal Feast and Opera Scenes. Dave MacKeigan, director, is looking to cast 7 females and 4 males from a wide range of ages in this hilarious comedy featuring the antics of the Futrelle sisters and their entourage. "Dearly Beloved" centers around Tina Jo’s wedding. Her mother Frankie has worked feverishly to make it a success, but sister Twink’s cost cutting measures has led to Fayro’s first pot luck wedding. Mother of the groom, Patsy Price does her best to disrupt things. Long lost sister Honey Raye shows up with a curve of her own. Many twists and turns cause this show to be a delight for both audience and cast. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Auditions for Monster in the Closet will take place MONDAY, JUNE 20TH FROM 6:30 TO 7:30 PM AT THEATRE 8:15 (4740 Massillon Road, Green OH, 44232) What is “Monster in the Closet” about? Emily has a big problem. Not only is she sent to bed just as she reaches the highest level of her new video game, but there’s a monster in her closet! It’s not just her imagination. Her friend Stephanie saw it, too. Suffering the teasing of her brother and his friends, Emily and Stephanie recruit some of their own friends to help capture the monster. What they don’t know is that Murray, the closet monster, doesn’t mean any harm — he only wants to play Emily’s new video game. He’s too scared of kids to even think about trying to frighten them. Murray’s boss, the Dream King, has heard about his goofing off on the job, and now Murray is on probation. Murray’s supervisor, fellow monster Wanda, is not happy with him either. After all, every monster knows that when a child is born, a monster is assigned to watch over her — not to play with her toys and especially not to get caught in the act! What will happen when Emily has all her friends over for a sleepover to try to capture Murray? Even with Emily’s friend Brain’s careful analysis and planning, the girls wind up trapping the Dream King and his secretary, Toady, instead of Murray. With other wonderfully entertaining characters like Sandy the Sandman and his dream weavers, the solution to Emily’s monster problem brings humor, a bit of ingenuity and a little magic to this charming and delightful family show.
