JUROR #10 NEEDED FOR 12 ANGRY JURORS

Hello everyone! The Luminescent Moon Theatre is looking for a Juror #10 to complete the cast for our September 16th-18th production! Friday and Saturday will perform at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday at 2:00 p.m.. An informational meeting will be Sunday, July 10th at 6:00 p.m.., and then we will have rehearsals starting Sunday, July 24th on Sundays and Thursdays from 6-8! We hope to have a tech week with less rehearsals needed than a full week! We are located at 84 1/2 Portage Street in Doylestown! A description of Juror #10 is below... Juror #10 is absolutely positive, based on the evidence, that the young man on trial is guilty. He is angry that the verdict is being delayed by those who think otherwise. His businesses are suffering due to him being in the jury room instead of at work, and he resents it. He also has a terrible cold which does not help his attitude any. He just wants to be done and go back to his normal life. The evidence is clear he says. But is it really the evidence that convinces Juror #10 that the young man is guilty? It soon becomes obvious that he sees anyone from the young man’s background, race, and economic status as not worth his time. He tells others that “those” people can not be trusted—that they are all liars. “You're not going to tell us that we're supposed to believe him, knowing what he is. I've lived among 'em all my life. You can't believe a word they say. You know that,” he tells the other jurors. Juror #10 rants on, but at one point he confronts his own prejudices and debates within himself whether he really thinks the evidence points to the young man’s guilt or only the bigotry within him. The Luminescent Moon Theatre announces a musical theatre dance workshop at its new location at 84 1/2 N Portage Street Doylestown Ohio 44230 🌙 Our musical theatre dance workshop will be 3 Thursdays from 5-6 p.m., taught by our instructor Kayla Smith. These Thursdays are July 21st, July 28th, August 4th and students will perform during the August 11th recital if they choose along with private voice and acting students. Any attendees will be learning a small dance combo to a selected song. They will be working using their bodies as a way to express what is going on in the song without words. Students will learn how to use their faces and bodies to communicate. They will learn how to create a character of their own design to correlate with the song. Students should come prepared to try new things and step out of their comfort zones. Please dress comfortably and wear comfortable shoes. Water will be provided. Bienvenue! and Welcome! In a Berlin nightclub in the late 1920’s, a garish Master of Ceremonies welcomes the audience to forget their troubles at the Kit Kat Klub. With the Emcee’s bawdy songs as wry commentary, “Cabaret” explores the dark, heady, and tumultuous life of Berlin’s natives and expatriates as Germany slowly yields to the emerging Third Reich. Cliff, a young American writer newly arrived in Berlin, is immediately taken by English singer Sally Bowles. Meanwhile, Fräulein Schneider, proprietor of Cliff and Sally’s boarding house, tentatively begins a romance with Herr Schultz, a mild-mannered fruit seller who happens to be Jewish. Join Selena Awesome Vicario for Free community yoga classes on Edgewater beach by the Willow tree. Gentle, All Levels, Accessible Community Yoga 8:30am-9:15am on Mon. Weds. & Fridays. All are welcome to attend. I’m offering these independently as a source of community mutual aid. (Not affiliated with any studios/ for-profit entities). Donations are not expected nor collected. Sharing your practice is a gift. We all deserve to breathe. This is a gentle practice for connecting with ourselves and our community. The style and practice will vary based upon the desires of the present participants. Bring a blanket/mat/towel and water bottle. We practice on the grass by the bike path and the Willow tree. This is an accessible practice for all, including folks in wheelchairs (also welcoming Non-native English speakers). Experienced yoga practitioners & beginners encouraged to join.
