*Education Coordinator* The Education Coordinator will report to Great Lakes Light Opera’s Executive Director. *Responsibilities include but are not limited to:* - Selling educational programming to libraries, schools, community centers, and other relevant venues · Coordinating logistics for programming including but not limited to space, A/V capabilities, and piano · Maintaining the educational calendar of all Great Lakes Light Opera educational ventures · Managing the Opera Avengers podcast by working with the Opera Avengers Conceptual Manager to choose topics and create production timelines · Scheduling recording sessions and editing for Opera Avengers Podcast · Working with the Director of Adult Programming and the Director of Youth Education and Outreach to recruit singers and teaching artists for educational programming *Required qualifications:* Detail oriented, highly organized, proven sales ability, self-sufficient, creative, positive and assertive attitude. Proficient in MS word, articulate verbal and written communication skills, ability to juggle multiple tasks at once and ability to think quickly on your feet. *Preferred skills:* Performance/arts experience, background in teaching/education, podcast production. *Time commitment:* 5 – 10 hours per week, flexible schedule *Compensation:* Volunteer position with opportunity for growth. Here's the Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pinheadsfanpage?fref=ts Here's the original pilot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2ccKGrAZi0 Here are the roles available Multi-episode roles Bernie - appears in 5 of the 6 planned episodes: This is a recast of the part from the pilot. I'm not expecting someone to do a dead-on impression of the original actor, but I do recommend watching the pilot for a guideline. In short, the character is as crazy as the day is long. He is Caucasian, and the actor should be old enough to be believable as the father of two teenage children. Margo - appears in 3 of the episodes: A co-worker at the radio station, off the straight face to the wild antics of Brian, Steven and Charlie. Though she also has a bit of a snarky, dark-humored side. No race preference, age-range would be mid-20's to 40's. Single episode roles: Rachel - Kenny's sister/Bernie's daughter. She has a crush on Brian so the character is very girly (think school girl in love) and kind of awkward. The role is written for someone under the age of 18, but if you can pass for that young or if you can pull off the right attitude, I'm flexible. Drunk Heckler - An obnoxious drunk who harasses Steven while he's trying to work. Pretty straight forward. There are other bit parts (mostly one episode parts and callers to Steven's show) but these are the main roles I'm auditioning. If you're interested in more than one part, let me know. Beck Center for the Arts presents ROOTS MUSIC CAMP with Paul Kovac Although dating as far back as the turn of the 20th century and earlier, American Roots Music has seen a surge in popularity in recent years thanks to films such as Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?, and musicians such as the Avett Brothers and Chris Thiele. Designed to expose instrumentalists and vocalists to the roots of American music, this camp will teach students melodies, song forms, performance techniques, and improvisation based on genres such as traditional, old-timey, Pre-War blues, Appalachian folk, bluegrass, gospel, and many more. Students will get the chance to learn from, and create music with, nationally-recognized roots music performer and educator, Paul Kovac. Although recommended for guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, bass, vocals, all instrumentalists and vocalists are welcome. *The Cassidy Theatre is now accepting resumes for a Costume Designer for our 2015, production of The Producers.* *Production dates are June 12th – 28th 2015.* The costume master/designer, will be responsible for the overall look of the clothes and costumes for this production. The costumer will be in charge of designing, obtaining, making, and altering costumes for the production. Responsibilities: · study the script · discuss ideas with the production designer, director, and lighting designers · create costume ideas to fit the production’s design concept and budget · research suitable costume styles, fabrics and designs · candidates must be able to sew costumes as needed for the show. · buying or renting outfits · fitting, altering and adapting costumes · cleaning, ironing and mending Synopsis of Show- A down-on-his-luck Broadway producer and his mild-mannered accountant come up with a scheme to produce the most notorious flop in history thereby bilking their backers (all "little old ladies") out of millions of dollars. Only one thing goes awry: the show is a smash hit! The show follows the antics of Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom as they maneuver their way fecklessly through finding a show (the gloriously offensive "Springtime for Hitler"), hiring a director, raising the money and the consequences of their actions. At the core of this insanely funny adventure is a poignant emotional journey of two very different men who become friends.
