Workshop Players present *It Runs In The Family*, a comedy by Ray Cooney, directed by Mason Adams. Set in a hospital, *It Runs in the Family* contains the usual assortment of farcical nuts running in and out of doors mistaking everybody for someone else, as Dr. Mortimore (Jonathan McCleery) tries to fend off a paternity suit, an ex wife, a punkish son and various other lunatics so that he may, at last, deliver the Ponsonby Lecture in an international conference. The cast includes: Kevin Boland, Marcia Deist, Anthony DeJesus, Jenny Erbs, Dale Hruska, Shelbey Linder, Janet Lynch, Tom Majercik, Dennis Runkle, Brad Sales and Maria Vitale-Gesmond. Performances are July 9, 10, 11, 17, 18, 24 & 25 at 8 p.m., with Sunday matinees on July 19 and 26 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $12 each or $10 each groups of 15 or more. The Canal Fulton Players are proud to announce that they will be presenting Craig May's original murder mystery, Closing Night, on August 21-22, 28-29, 2015 at ...the SALT Box Ministries, 408 West Market Street, Canal Fulton, Ohio. Auditions are scheduled for June 30, July 1 at Community Connections, 2381 Locust Street, Canal Fulton, Ohio (Next to Heritage Photography) at 7:00 pm Persons wishing to audition should be ready to read from the script. There are forty parts which are to be played by ten actors and actresses. Thus, there are four parts per participant. The reason is that there is a play within a play. Another movie crew is coming to film in Cleveland and we’ve got them for an evening! Watch the trailer here Men of Granite: A Book into A Film Thursday July 16 at 7 pm. Beachwood Branch of Cuyahoga County Public Library 25501 Shaker Blvd. MEN OF GRANITE, a book by Dan Manoyan, tells the story of the sons of immigrants who were Hungarian, Armenian, Yugoslavian, and Macedonian growing up in Granite City, Illinois in 1939. A teacher saw something in these struggling kids and introduced them to the Recreation Center, where they began to play basketball together. The town was divided economically and socially, and it was seemingly impossible for these kids to compete on the high school level until their coach allows them to play as a team. And against all odds, they win the 1940 Illinois State Championship in basketball. Meet the author, and the creative team that is turning the book into a movie starring William Hurt, Susan Sarandon and Kevin McHale ( of Glee fame) Valerie McCaffrey, Producer Christopher Harrington, Producer Guy Boudreaux, Producer David McElroy, Producer Patrick Stapleton, Line Producer Dwayne Johnson Cochran, Director Books will be available for purchase and signing.
