Lorain Community Music Theater Disney's The Little Mermaid LCMT returns to Lorain with a splash for its 40th Anniversary year with this epic adventure under the sea! Come be part of our world! Director/Choreographer - Monica Olejko Music Director - Anthony Trifiletti Producers - Marlene Karpinsk & Lynn Maslinski Auditions will be offered in three different sessions. You only need to attend one session. Auditions will be held at St. Peter School, 3601 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Saturday, March 25th 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 25th 5:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Sunday, March 26th 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Please arrive for registration up to thirty minutes prior to the audition start time, and be prepared to stay for the duration of the session. Singing auditions will take part first. A dance routine will be taught at the conclusion of all singing auditions. The dance routine will only be taught once per session. Dress for movement. Those auditioning are asked to prepare a 32 bar cut in a vocal selection that reflects the style of the show. Bring sheet music in the proper key as an accompanist will be provided. Auditions will not be permitted with any electronic accompaniment or in acapella format. All performances will be held at the brand-new Lorain Performing Arts Center. The second session of auditions for the 2017 Great Lakes Medieval Faire will be held Sunday, February 26th from noon to 4 pm inside the Feast Hall at the Great Lakes Medieval Faire For our principal cast, we need four men preferably age 30+ to play our Knights Templar: -Richard Mallebeench, Master of the Templars in England -Gilbert de Lacy -Sir Roger St. Leger -Sir William de Harcourt We also need talented actors to portray our main villainous nobles the Earl Edmund of Lancaster and his wife Blanche of Artois, as well as their hired help; a chaotic neutral group of rogues and their leader. This year, our principal cast is based on people that actually existed (save for the rogues. They were just added for dramatic effect). Please research the character you are auditioning for, and tailor your audition piece appropriately. While the names of our leads are historically accurate, the age of the actor portraying them does not have to be. In addition to these named characters we also need to fill the following roles: 2 ladies maids to Lady Blanche 2 footmen to the Earl A Faerie princess 4+ elemental fae A mysterious Oracle A Wizard A Court Jester Four Squires to the Knights 6 to 8 Rogues A sheriff to the village of Avaloch The Mayor of Avaloch As well as, of course, a diverse and wide cast of villagers. Details here: http://clevelandasianfestival.org/2017/index.php/asia-pop-dance-competition/ *Requirements for the 2017 Cleveland Asian Festival’s Asian-Pop Dance Competition.* 1. -Your dance crew must be between 2-12 people. 2. -You must use a mix of songs in your routine, a minimum of 2 but do not surpass 6 songs. 3. -Each submission must be between 4-6 minutes in length. 4. -Please limit your music selection to the following genres: Bollywood (India), C-Pop (China), J-Pop (Japan), K-Pop (South Korea), and Nepali Hip Hop. 5. You may cover dances or choreograph your own routine. 6. -All songs must be found in at least one database of the following music licensing companies or their affiliates: ASCAP, BMI, SESAC. 7. -At least one member or representative must be 18 years of age and a legal resident of the United States. 8. -If selected as a finalist, you must be available on May 20th, 2017 for a live performance/competition of your video compilation. If you do not appear, your position will be offered to the runner up(s). A complete W9 form will be required to claim monetary prizes. 9. -Costume choices must be appropriate for a family friendly audience. *How to submit for the 2017 Cleveland Asian Festival’s Asian-Pop Dance Competition.* 1. -Record a video of your routine and upload it to youtube.com. Please refrain from excessive video editing; we would like to see the performance as if it were live.
