The next meeting of the Songwriter Summit (nee: Summit County Songwriter Circle) will be held on March 5th at Two Girls Cafe and Bakery, 3703 Darrow Road in Stow, OH. Our general meeting begins at 7 PM and is usually over by 9 o’clock. Meetings feature presentations of new songs or works in progress offered by members and non-members alike. You do not need to be a member to present a song and you do not need to be a writer to attend the meeting. Members discuss the songs, offer gentle critique and comment as requested by the performer. Songwriter Summit exists to connect songwriters throughout the area and has members that often travel from Pennsylvania and West Virginia to attend. Our musical tastes cover a wide variety of genres and styles and all are welcome. Hester La Negrita, a homeless mother of five, lives with her kids on the tough streets of the inner city. HER KIDS ARE PLAYED BY ADULT ACTORS WHO ALSO DOUBLE AS FIVE OTHER PEOPLE IN HER LIFE: ex-boyfriend, social worker, doctor, best friend and minister. While Hester's kids fill her life with joy (comical moments amid the harsh world of poverty) the adults only hold her back. _In the Blood _, directed by Cory Molner, will have its performances opening Fri, May 18 and run Thu-Sat through June 9. Rehearsals will begin early April. Roles available : Hester La Negrita – female, 30s-50s, black. Chilli (ex-boyfriend)/Jabber (age 13) – male, 30s-50s, any non-white ethnicity. Cain Park General Stage Technician Location Cleveland Heights, OH Job Type Seasonal Part Time Description Under supervision of the Production Manager and/or General Manager, plans, organizes, and performs technical support activities for Cain Park. Examples of Duties * Help with the installation, focus, and maintenance of all lighting and sound equipment used for any Park event regardless of location. This includes the hanging and focusing of lights and other equipment for the Theater shows which Cain Park produces. * Assist with the safe and correct installation of any additional equipment brought into the Park by scheduled artists or rental companies. * Work all Park special events thru load-in, rehearsals, performance, and strike as scheduled. * Help maintain all lighting and sound equipment, both in use and in storage; assisting with the creation and maintenance of starting, active, and closing inventories. * Assist with the execution of all performance requirements including but not limited to: operating the light or sound board, running a follow spot, acting as deck electrician, or deckhand, and setting or striking any scenic elements used in an event or show. * Work with the Production Managers, Master Electrician, Sound Technician, and/or the Artist's Representative to meet the individual lighting and sound needs of each event. * Help with the construction, installation, and maintenance of scaffolding and masking for the Evans Amphitheater set-up. * Assist with the construction, installation, and operation of any lighting or sound needs for the Arts Festival, or other Arts Festival tasks as assigned. * Work with the City electricians or carpenters for any additional Park or Events needs. * Maintain high safety levels at all times. * Assist with shutdown activities, including end-of-season inventory of materials and supplies on hand and the values of each. * Any other reasonable duties as assigned by the Production Managers and/or the General Manager. Examples of Duties * Directly responsible to the Production Managers. * Help with the installation, focus and maintenance of all sound equipment used for any Park event regardless of location. * Assist with the safe and correct installation of any additional equipment brought into the Park by scheduled artists or rental companies. * Work all Events thru load-in, rehearsals, performance, and strike as scheduled. * Help maintain all sound equipment, both in use and in storage; assisting with the creation and maintenance or starting, active, and closing inventories. * Assist with the execution of all performance requirements including, but not limited to: operating the sound board, acting as stagehand, and setting or striking elements used in an event or show. On occasion when you have no specific assignment for a particular event, you may be assigned another function, e.g. security. * Work with the Production Managers, Technicians and/or the Artist's representative to meet the individual sound needs of each event. * Assist with the construction, installation, and operation of any sound needs for the Arts Festival, or with any other Arts Festival tasks as assigned. * Work with the City electricians or carpenters for any additional Park or Events needs. * Maintain high safety levels at all times. * Assist with shutdown activities, including end-of-season inventory of materials and supplies on hand and the values of each. * Act as support for the A2 in all capacities. * Assist with the set up and maintenance of the intercom and paging systems, including the paging system in the Alma Courtyard, as well as the Clear Com headset system. * Check out and fully set up the Phonic Ear systems in both theaters. Check on a daily basis that everything is in working order for the system. * Work sound for Events as assigned, and do all homework associated with microphone needs and transfers, including wireless mics, if needed. Cain Park Events Master Electrician Location Cleveland Heights, OH Job Type Seasonal Part Time Description Work with touring concert designer or act as touring concert designer to organize load in and load out of a concert. Examples of Duties * Directly responsible to the Events Production Manager, the Operations Manager; work in conjunction with the Theater Production Manager. * In charge of all electrics for Cain Park. * Supervise and assist all electrics load-ins and strikes. This may include the need to tie tour busses into the appropriate power supply. * Coordinate the safe and correct installation of all lighting equipment throughout the Park. * Tie in, as needed, any additional dimming or control equipment. * Supervise and focus all Cain Park light plots. You may also be called upon to design a house repertory light plot and light plots for locally produced events. * With the Theater Electrician, maintain all lighting equipment and keep starting and closing (end-of-season) inventories. This includes detailed lists of where all equipment came from and where it must be returned. * Maintain light plots and paperwork, including those materials developed for the Theater productions. * Coordinate with the Production Managers the ordering of all lighting materials, supplies, and rentals and coordinate their proper delivery and subsequent return or storage needs. * Stay within the lighting budget and compromise when necessary. * Attend all Theater technical and dress rehearsals as deemed necessary by the Production Managers, and all event load-ins and rehearsals as deemed necessary by the Production Managers. * Coordinate the scheduling of Production Technicians for electrical calls, hangs, and focuses with the Production Managers. The final crew calls and schedules will be the responsibility of the Production Managers. * Supervise the proper training of any Park personnel required to operate lighting control systems. * Work with the Lighting Designer(s) towards the realization of their designs. * Help to cost out Theater shows and events lighting needs with the Lighting Designer(s) and/or Production Managers, when necessary. * Research and build all Cain Park Theater practicals and/or special effects, including their operating costs and operational safety requirements. * Deal with the power distribution needs for the Arts Festival. * Work with the City electricians for any additional power needs. * Maintain high safety levels at all times.
