BorderLight Theatre Festival - Producer (Part-Time, Year-Round with Seasonal Variation) BorderLight Theatre Festival is seeking a highly organized and motivated theatre professional to help produce the annual BorderLight Fringe Festival. The Producer serves as the primary liaison for participating artists, coordinates logistics from pre-planning through festival completion, and represents the festival publicly. This is a part-time, year-round position (approximately 20-25 hours per week on average), with hours increasing seasonally leading up to and during the July festival. Compensation is $23,000-$25,000 annually, paid monthly, depending on experience. Part workshop and part open mic, this free event celebrates the belief that everyone has a story worth telling. Storytelling is more than just entertainment – it's a powerful tool for healing and self-discovery. By sharing true experiences, you will place yourself at the heart of your own life journey, using narrative to foster understanding and connection across diverse perspectives. This event aims to build bridges, not walls, within our community. Each event will feature a different guest storyteller and provide a supportive space for anyone who wishes to share their own story. The format will be an open mic but can shift to a more intimate story circle, depending on attendance. This storytelling workshop is led by Wandering Aesthetics' Education Director Kyle Jozsa and Artistic Director Benjamin Rexroad, using the Storyteller's Way model to help participants craft their stories. Vega is well-known for his work on Cleveland’s Guitarmania project, displaying vibrant and eclectic guitar sculptures throughout greater Cleveland. He is also known for his cityscape collages for local communities like Cleveland, Cleveland Heights, Lakewood, and Ohio City, as well as his prominent outdoor sculpture installations throughout Cleveland’s UH and MetroHealth Hospital campuses. Vega’s work is recognizable by its bold and daring use of colors and geometric patterns, which he says are intended to pay homage to his roots in the colorful and picturesque Gurabo, Puerto Rico. Cleveland Chamber Choir: Rachmaninoff's All Night Vigil

On October 24 & 25, join the Cleveland Chamber Choir by candlelight for a concert of Sergei Rachmaninoff’s beloved "All-Night Vigil" and Reena Esmail’s "A Winter Breviary." The Vigil was one of Rachmaninoff’s favorite works, and he even requested the fifth movement (the Nunc dimittis) be sung at his funeral. Esmail’s "A Winter Breviary" takes us from winter’s darkness to spring’s light. Its harmonic language is drawn from Indian Carnatic raags (melodic modes) that are associated with the hours of prayer from dusk to dawn. Poet Rebecca Gaye Howell, who wrote the text, speaks to the connection of these works directly, “For more than a thousand years, across the world and often without knowing, these two spiritual traditions have met, together, in song. Both raags and canonical prayers offer a constancy that marks a life by the well-loved day; they both act as a kind of clock for the soul.” Join us on this profound journey of light and hope, as we consider how the idea of vigil – a period of wakefulness and watchfulness – can help us find peace in a chaotic world.
