In '*Audition Technique*," "*Business for Actors*," and "*Marketing Yourself*," you'll learn everything there is to know about the real world of auditioning, including headshots/resumes, finding an agent/manager, what to wear in an audition, how to market yourself in the audition room, self-tape auditions, how to impress the casting director, and so much more. On the final day, students will audition for a panel of artistic directors from major regional theatres and receive personalized feedback. *ABOUT THE FACULTY* *JAMIBETH MARGOLIS: *Jamibeth Margolis, CSA (Casting Director) is now entering her 20th year as a professional casting director in New York. She was with Johnson-Liff Casting, Cameron Mackintosh, and Margolis-Seay Casting and is now out on her own as a freelance casting director. Previous credits include the Broadway and National Touring Companies of such hits as Les Miserables, The Phantom Of The Opera, Miss Saigon, and Cats as well as two dozen other shows on Broadway. She currently casts for Off Broadway, National Touring Companies and shows for prominent regional theaters and all of the major theater festivals in NYC. Her casting office is dedicated to the development of new plays and musicals. Additional casting credits include multiple television pilots and on camera industrials for major US companies. Current Casting Projects: Sistas: The Musical (Off Broadway), Rebel Rebel: The Many Lives Of David Bowie (Tour), the National Yiddish Theatre and many more. Jamibeth serves as the resident casting director of Cleveland Musical Theatre. *CHRISTOPHER SILVERI:* After a brief stint in acting, Chris moved on to cast commercials with Liz Lewis Casting Partners. He then went on to head up the Legit Department (Theater, TV and Film) at Gilla Roos, Ltd.. Now the Vice President of Talent Management at Prestige Management Group, Christopher's clients are working on both coasts and can be seen in all mediums of the entertainment business. He has clients who are recurring on MTV's Eye Candy, Netflix's Orange is the New Black, Bravo's Odd Mom Out, HBO's Crime, The Young & The Restless & Boardwalk Empire. Those are just the recurrings! Auditions for the 2017-2018 season of Theatre in the Circle will be held: Thursday, July 20 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. or by appointment. Friday, July 21 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. or by appointment. Callback auditions will be held on Saturday, July 29 by appointment. Roles will be cast for: “The All Night Strut” (September 21-24, 2017): 2 women (S&A); 2 men (T&B). All must be singer/dancers and be comfortable with 30’s-40’s musical genres. The libretto advises: “Each performer must be a unique individual capable of dynamic solo work and the ability to blend with the group as a whole." “The Gift of the Magi” (December 14-17, 2017): 1 woman (S, 18-30 years old); 1 man (high baritone or tenor, 18-30 years old). “Nunsense A-Men” (May 17-20, 2017): 5 men, (2 Tenors, 3 Baritones. WILDLY OUTRAGEOUS “NEIGHBORS” OPENS NEXT FRI, JULY 7 AT CONVERGENCE-CONTINUUM -Ohio premiere of Neighbors by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, directed by Terrence Spivey- In parts minstrel show, family drama and tragic farce, NEIGHBORS takes racial rage head-on in our supposedly “post-racial” world with shocking, savage humor. This outrageously provocative and controversial play by MacArthur genius award winner Branden Jacobs-Jenkins is directed by Terrence Spivey (director of last year’s con-con production of Bootycandy). Classics professor Richard Patterson is not happy. The family of black entertainers that has moved in next door is an embarrassment—loud, raucous, tacky, shameless and obscene. They’re not just taking over the neighborhood—they’re infiltrating his perfect, interracial family and his perfect, post-racial sanity. In its scathing exploration of denial and its satire of black entertainment from blackface minstrelsy to hip-hop, NEIGHBORS is a shocking, explosive, hilarious and wildly theatrical play.
