WE ARE GROWING!! The Baldwin Wallace Community Arts School dance department is looking for an experienced dance educator to add to their 2022-2023 season. CAS values instructors with competitive pay, professional development opportunties, and a positive environment where educators can grow! The BW Community Arts School seeks an experienced part-time multidisciplinary dance instructor to join their growing dance department. Ideal candidates will have experience in a classroom setting, or a combination of significant professional experience and education. CAS Dance Instructors are energetic, engaging, and foster strong relationships with CAS students. Weekday evening availability (Monday-Thursday) is required; Saturday morning availability is preferred but not required. This position primarily focuses on instructing students ages 6-18; experience with adults and seniors is a plus. Start Date: September 2022 Qualifications: Certified dance instructor, possess a degree in dance, or possess extensive relevant professional experience. Proficient in jazz and contemporary technique instruction; ballet technique instruction is preferred, but not necessary. Acro certification preferred, but not necessary. Previous teaching experience with beginner through advanced levels preferred. Must pass a background check and commit to the values of Baldwin Wallace University community. Our goal is to give students the highest quality education in multiple dance genres and create the most well-rounded dancer possible. Participants can expect small class settings, personalized critiques, and focused instruction. The BW CAS Dance Company works as a team. Grease the Musical tells the story of Rydell High’s senior class of 1959: Duck-tailed, Hot-rodding “Burger Palace Boys” and their gum-snapping, hip-shaking “Pink Ladies” in bobby sox and pedal pushers evoking the look and sound of the 1950s in this rollicking musical. Head “greaser” Danny Zuko and new (good) girl Sandy Dumbrowski try to relive the high romance of their “Summer Nights” as the rest of the gang sings and dances its way through all the hit songs that have become the soundtrack of a generation! Wouldn't it be great fun to direct William Shakespeare's "Hamlet"? That was what Margo Daley always thought...until she is hired to do just that by the Peaceful Glen Memorial Players in their theater, a renovated funeral home. They DO have a couple of conditions, however. Margo has to make the play a melodrama, so the audience will know when to throw the popcorn. And they can't be too loud because the lady who lives under the theater bangs her cane on the stage. Oh, and Margo has to insert the sponsors' names into the play and, by the way, has to take place in the Old West. "And make sure the actors talk real loud because of all the noise the audience makes sucking their fingers," states one of the council members, an occupational hazard brought about by them selling barbecue before the show. All kinds of eccentric characters come out of the woodwork in this riotous tribute to life on the community theater stage. Even the pizza delivery boy is given parts - several since Margo only has four actors to portray the five-act tragedy. Fast lines and even faster exits punctuate this farce as Margo and her troupe of misguided actors find out what it's like when they begin "Barbecuing Hamlet." Orrville Community Theater P. O.
